me, if the guy gets um pulled out of the barn, i'm gonna run and fetch um up this wkend.
are you positive? that's what the 231 is. so it'd work the same, as far as driveshaft line.
Yes went and dug out a GM case and measured it myself to be sure.
Yes $2,200 is a LOT to pay for a aluminum housing but if you are trying to lose some weight it's how you can do it with a NP205.
Again let's all hope Midnight has one out soon and the price point is closer to $1,400.
I'll keep my eyes open for a NP205 Ford version closer to me for a good price and pick it up and stuff it away for if I need it. Kinda like that LP Dana 60 housing I got sitting in my garage.

1:1, 1.96:1, 2.72:1, 5.33:1, 7.40:1 and 14.5:1.

OK spill. I know how you got the 1.96 & 2.72 which gives the 5.33 but how'd you get the rest?

my rear driveshaft is 32" so i got a bit of length to mess with.
the Rubicrawler replaces my 42RLE tail section only adds an inch of length, 2.72:1
that directly fits onto the NP231J , another 2.72:1.
cut that 231 in half and mate the 205, with the Frog fab kit nets me a 1.96:1 into that mix.
what i can't nail down exactly is length of the 231/205 vs the whole 231. the 231/300 is said to be close, within + an inch or 2.

DAMN that will be KEWL.... You'll be competing with the Yota guys who have 2 or 3 transfer cases.
Helped with a chevy build one time that we stacked a Ranger OD, Sm465 and 203/205. Altogether weighed more than the 454 in front of it and needed one of those paint can CVs to handle the angle.
6-1 first is deep. It could double as an arm rest in place of the center console.
I'd always wanted to do a Ranger O/D and then a good 4 speed & crawl box and then a t-case. But I never had the money...
Back before computers I had a notebook full of equations of different gearing combos.
