Purchasing a 98 Sahara

To everyone in this group talking this
I promise you he can look else where and find one cheaper.

Don't get me wrong, I always start high on the asking price, PT Barnum knew what he was talking about.

The OP asked legitimate questions and we gave real world answers.

Ok so where are these 'real world' 98 Saharas Automatic with a hard top at the price point youre discussing? In the Austin area? That only require 2k of work to be perfect... Please do show us all these jeeps ill go buy one.

The hard top itself is worth 2k. Not a single one of you has mentioned that fact. This kid can sell the hard top, put on a soft top, and he's only paying 9k for the car. Again show me a SINGLE 98 Automatic with 90k miles in the Austin area that needs less than 3k work for 9k.... Ill go buy that car today.

Look I'm not going to argue or debate with you.

He can look elsewhere or he can buy your jeep.

He asked an honest question and got honest answers.

It's his money to spend.

Its actually not in need of maintenance. Ive been using it for city driving and the only repairs it now needs is to go 80 on the highway. This Sahara is in amazing condition. The hard top itself is worth 2 thousand dollars.

Being a '98, if the steering is shot, 95% chance all the bushings and rubber parts under the Jeep are in need of replacement... especially in a hot/dry climate like texas...

I've owned my Jeep since it was brand new with 7 miles on the odometer... and it's 7 years newer (2005), it lived in S. Fl it's wntire life, except the last 3 years... All the body bushings were deteriorating, all the control arm bushings were getting hard and had dry rot, belts, wirelooms, etc, etc... I'm meticulous about staying on mfr recommended maintenance.

Haha, I guess the original poster sent a link to this thread to the seller as a negotiating tactic? This is a first!

Tell you what, why don't the two of you hold your negotiation on this one of a kind 98 Sahara complete with a $2k hard top right here on this thread for the audience?

I've got popcorn heating in the microwave!

I see a bunch of dudes from the middle of Alabama talking about how cheap things should be... the irony... lol

Take your used car sales tactics elsewhere.
