Putting the hardtop back on

So....I was trying to decide whether to bother putting my hard top back on for the winter. It had been sitting outside the house for the last few months since I replaced it with a soft top for the summer. Last night. the decision was made on my behalf. There was a "Wild Atlantic" storm, which is still blowing, and this morning I found that my beautiful hard top had been lifted by the wind, moved about 10 feet from the original position, turned over and dropped on it's roof. As a result, the back window shattered and the top itself is now broken in multiple places.

The Jeep looks better with the soft top anyway! Problem solved, I guess...

I think you are better off without a choice! I wont take my hard top off because I have no storage space, I have a soft top I do not used but want a Trek top NX. I have to make a decision sell the hard top or just keep it on all year round, if the choice was taken away I would be happy but its just so hard to replace a factory hard top once its sold on, well in Australia anyway.

If I were you I would store that Sahara top and wait for a decent glass price, i would imagine the hard tops are rare in Ireland especially the tan ones.

I just took another look at the top. It's split in two right down both sides. Anybody need side windows?

That sucks man, but sometimes life's easier when decisions get made for you. I got rid of my hardtop a couple years ago & am much happier not having to deal with the seasonal transfer. I'd always get pissed off on those one-off fall or spring days where I want it all open but tomorrow I know it's gonna be too cold again.

That's an expensive mistake. There's a number of ways to store one of those without leaving it outside.

I built a hardtop storage dolly with free plans I found online. The hardtop sits on its back end and I could pull the front tires all the way up to the underside of the hardtop.
