Okay… let me see if I can add onto this without another surprise page refresh.
I’ve had a couple of JKRs . One was left bone stock and my last one was modified to the point of ridiculous money wasting. I’ve been Jeep-less for about four years now though. I knew I’d be back at some point but wasn’t sure when or with what. One side of me always wants the latest model and another side of me has been longing for simplicity. The TJ seemed to be my happy medium.
The one I picked up yesterday is in great mechanical shape with a sun-worn paint job. I’m not sure how much I’m caring about that though. It’s got a 4.0 but with the old 3-speed automatic transmission and 3.07 gears. I’ve only driven it a day but I’m thinking new gears are in my future. It’s got 31” (advertised) tires and a 3-ish inch lift. Not great with the gearing.
Anyway, I started life on the central CA coast and am happy to not live there any longer. I’m mostly a highway driver but there are a lot of off road areas to explore here in AZ.
I’ll certainly post some ridiculous questions but I promise to search first.
