Quirks of the 97 model

HVAC box intake from cowl changed from 97 to 99... however the slight crescent bump outs for screws doesn't appear to stop me from attaching the 97 HVAC box to the red 99.

HVAC control panel on the 97 is about a half inch narrower than a 99. Had to cut the plastic loops into slots and use fender washers.

But is that because the 99s had the knob-style controls, instead of sliders?

Yup...but the knobs isn't the only change...either the dash opening is 1/2" wider...and/or the 99 module is 1/2" wider too.
