Rear shock bolt snapped

So I had some success with my rear shock upper bolts, key word - some. I had one snap off. Passenger side out board. Now I'm wondring, drill and ez out, or pull the wheel well cover and maybe get vice grips on it and turn it on through the top. Anyone have any thoughts on this?

Lots of threads on this subject. Best solution is to remove the wheel well liner and use a Dremel and/or air chisel to knock the welded nut off. Then replace it with a bolt.

I welded a nut to mine and then backed it out carefully. It snapped at the head so there was a good amount of bolt to weld to

All 4 of mine snapped.
I used the air chisel to knock the nuts off the frame.
Replaced them with panel nuts like this:

The only issue is that these flop around a bit and are difficult to align the bolt when installing the new shocks.
My solution for the next time will be to put studs into them and use flange nuts to secure the shocks.
