Hi

I need to change out both rear and front PCV elbows and grommets.

Can anyone shed any light on whether they are both the same or not as there’s a lot of conflicting info out there.

I hear that the rear is different (smaller internal dia hole) and also grommet internal dia differs. However I also hear that from 2005 onwards they are both the same (??).

Thanks in advance

They are different. I recommend going to a Mopar parts site and getting the diagram and OEM parts. My local parts store sent me home with the wrong stuff twice before I ordered online. I have an 02. Might be different.

Both the manual from this site and the link above have confusing descriptions.

0495 is at the rear of the engine but the description states "crank case vent to air cleaner"
0497 is at the front of the engine but and the description states "crank case vent tube"

Is 0495 supposed to be placed in the front position connected to the air cleaner, or are the descriptions just backwards?

I think placement matters because the parts are different.

Below is 0495

The one with the small orifice definitely goes in the rear position so that it dampens the vacuum pulses between the crankcase and the intake.
