Mile High lists Dan Wesson in their drop down for handguns by the way.

This was the single issue I had with the Ruger SR1911, until I found review after review of long-term owners touting the reliability of their guns. Being that the SR1911 is loaded with MIM parts, what would your opinion be of them, @Mike_H? @Rubi04?Went with a Springfield mil-spec. and have since upgraded nearly every part to get rid of the MIM internal.
I don't have a problem with MIM parts. The "important" parts in my springfield are still MIM (sear and Hammer). I work in plastic injection molding, so I know how good the quality can be. Its a metal part, its just much cheaper to manufacture vs. machining from billet. They start with a powdered metal and use high heat and pressure to bind the powder together into a part. It goes through a secondary process (similar to heat treat) to actually form the material on an atomic level. This was the single issue I had with the Ruger SR1911, until I found review after review of long-term owners touting the reliability of their guns. I forgot Wilson in my list also. A friend of mine in Cali swears by his collection of them, another great option. Thanks all. I forgot about Wilson! I’ll see if they offer something I like.
I would love to build one too, great suggestion!
It’s not 100% done yet, but I’m close and I want to celebrate with a nice 1911. I have owned a few but they were more of plain Jane, mil spec guns which worked great and I shoot that platform the best out of all models.
This is not a carry gun, I have others for that Duty.
This is a sorta flashy (not bright like chrome, hate that but modded) range, fun, etc pistola.
I’ve always lusted for a custom Nighthawk, but I really can’t justify $4k on one.
Dan Wesson is my second choice and gets rave reviews. I’m really loving the Discretion. It’s setup like I want and suppressor ready.
so, besides gunbroker, is there a place to buy from with a good reputation!? My local shop could order me one but they are small and I’ll transfer through them but they don’t have the best prices.

This is the model. Thoughts? Better brands? Around same price...it gets a little nuts with this platform.
I like Colts though so I’m weird.
I’d prefer an original, I don’t have one yet but someday I will. What do you think of the new Python?
My buddy Will got the contract to do all of their print and digital/video media on it. It sure looks sexy.

Lots of issues with the new ones. Sadly, Colt fucked it up.
