Rubicon locker question

I guess over all these things have a pretty good track record at the same time I do think we need to all be looking ahead-
They have, but @mrblaine has shared his experience numerous times about how at least the rear will grenade itself eventually.
 
They are phenomenally incorrect. Understeer comes from a locked rear axle, not the front.
Makes me feel better then- looked like pulling tires might actually help ya steer

There's videos of it, but go out and try it when yours work, it's the big reason I separated my front/rear rubicon switch (even knowing that will make the OEM rear die sooner most likely). My toyota buddies still disagree with me because some guy on youtube from Australia told them otherwise. Most are too nervous to test it in my rig for some reason - even in a dirt lot (probably pride?).

Are ya talking locked rears only ?
 
I always wondered what was up with all the lines. Is it possible to delete most of the line and use one pump to actuate both lockers
I forget the circumstances, but I have used one pump to activate both lockers at once. It was a trail fix that was repaired later in week.

Try locked front, locked rear, locked both turning circles. You can do a temp bypass following a thread here about making the lockers work independently (I'll try to find it when I have a few).
 
He is exactly right and you lose your selective feature- And some guys like to run the rear only for steering and have the option to hit the front-

And the ones who understand the way things work do the exact opposite.

This has been on my to-do list for a long time.
 
There's way too much bad info on the internet, shoot I'm even skeptical reading things here 95% of the time.
For as often as it is discussed here, one would think it would be more common knowledge in this little world.

What tells the locker pump to turn off? Is that internal in the pump?

You have to get "those guys" to watch the below John Currie video and then have them honestly try it for themselves if they have selectable lockers front and rear.

I don’t need to straighten everyone out. And I don’t need convinced. I’m just really glad to have working lockers.

Locked or not, the front can always steer and vehicle will go that direction. A locked front doesn't help that and it barely hinders it.

An open rear allows the steering to occur because that is why the differential was put there. A locked rear always resists the steering otherwise there would be no need for a rear differential.
