What ever they do, they shouldn’t list any tail lights anytime soon. For some strange reason the market is flooded with used Savvy tail lights right now 
I saw the original one piece version in person installed in a jeep and it blew me away. I think I have posted some photos of the original and the modular showing the differences and Blaine explained how the modular version came to be (essentially people wanting to mix and match things, and/or not wanting to spend all at once what it cost for the one piece design). The modular version is still really fantastic.
I think there is more earlier version but I can't find the photo. The last one is the latest version that is more commonly seen.

What is strange about it? Or are you referring to the bracket that is wrapping the frame?
Factory mount with the Savvy crossmember bracket wrapped around the frame rail. That's how they do it.
The biggest complaint was that it was more expensive than the UCF version. The big problem with that is folks can't math. The UCF version did not include a body lift, cable shifter, motor mount lift, and when finished even with the addition of those items, it still didn't have a stand alone crossmember that allowed you to test drive the rig with the skid removed.
The second problem is some folks already had a motor mount lift installed and would not remove it to install the Savvy version.
The third problem is folks didn't want to pay for a cable shifter whether it was a great idea or not.
The fourth problem is folks, lots of them had a 1" body lift already and didn't want to change it to the 1 1/4" Savvy version.
Too many strikes against the product and too many complaints about the all inclusive nature adding to the overall, albeit cheaper price. At the time, if you added it all up, it was a fair bit cheaper than the UCF but again, folks can't math.
They still have sets on the old site. That price is the full kit with coils and everything I think. Just the mid arm on the old site is 3,250.
I swear 2 years ago that kit used to costs like 2,200. This is what I get for waiting lol.

This is the $3,250 kit which is on sale. This assumes you already have springs, sway bar, trac bar and shocks purchases separately.
Considering what you get, that pricing isn't bad.

When Marty was working there, the first time they priced out the mid arm upgrade less coils and what not, it was right at their cost. I even called him and had him do the math with me on the phone. While I did not know the exact prices, I had some very educated guesses. He insisted that the mark-up was there so I just let it be and told everyone I knew that if it was a future purchase, buy it now since it will never be cheaper unless they sell it below cost.
I paid $1789 for the upgrade kit during the very first production run
Bracket kit- 3-400
JJ's x 14 = 700
Jam nuts x 14 = 49
Bolts with nuts and washers x 14 = 35
Arms x 7 = 420 or higher
Boxes x ? = minimum $10
1600 + labor to pick up, sort, shelve, and pack it all and Marty said my math was screwed up.
I have to think that would have been the "upgrade" kit, which is now $3550. But yeah, that's close to having me priced out of ever having one, no matter how justified it is by the production cost.
If I was doing it I would probably do the $1500 bracket/truss kit and get my own links made since I have nearly enough joints to complete the links. There's like, $600 worth of Johnny Joints in there.
