Yep. They are very cold sensitive. I grow satsumas here outside. Almost lost them all this last winter when it went to 15 degrees. Thankfully, it didn't last long but it killed all the flower buds, so not a satsuma this year. Normally, I pick 'em in 5 gallon buckets. A lemon is too cold sensitive for here unless I would do what you are doing.

We are canning like crazy this year. Tomatoes and corn are probably going to be coming in this week.
We canned up pinto beans this year. Bought dried beans and pressure cooked/canned them. Makes it easier to open a quart instead of wasting left over beans.
Strange,i don't see no copper coil and mason jars hooked up to that pressure cooker ?
Do any of you do this - I've been leaving patches of nettles and letting leaves gather in corners for years now. It's incredible how much life they attract, from insects and birds to small mammals. It adds a certain charm to the garden that a perfectly manicured space just can't match.
While we're on the topic of gardens, I've been thinking about changing my outdoor furniture. Mine has seen better days, and I'm particularly drawn to the idea of rattan. Do you have any personal experiences with rattan furniture? I mean something like this rattan.
