Hi all, I recently purchased an '02 TJ and it has a rear bumper mount for a spare tire. I haven't seen one like this and am not sure how a spare would mount to it. Has anyone seen this style before? What kind of adapter is needed for a spare?

It seems obvious what you need, but you'll probably have to have one made.
What about asking the PO?

I believe the bumper was made by Body Armor. A Square tube slides into the receiver with a flat plate on the end with wheel studs. The flat part on top of the receiver with the two holes hold the forum loving Hi Lift Jack.

It looks like Jerry cans might go into the angle pieces welded to the bottom bar.

It looks like they used a hitch receiver to mount a spare tire. You're definitely missing a piece

Yep. There should be latches on the inside of the vertical bars that allow you to clamp down on old school Jerry cans.
When I purchased my tj it had both the front and rear Body Armor Bumpers. The front one was decent. The rear was never happy with a 35" MTR on a steel wheel. Rattled like hell and the outer edge behind the rear tires were a rock magnet.

It is definitely a Body Armor rear bumper. You're missing a receiver style tube with a plate that has the studs on them. It had several holes in the square tube for he hitch pin/bolt so you could tuck it tight or make room for gas cans. The extra tab with a hole on top is for a CB antenna.
