Steering / track bar hitting G2 Core 44 axle differential cover

You’re not wrong, but also, this Blaine guy is a condescending asshole with a god complex. I wasn’t going to dive into that, but he just had to keep going on and on. So, here we are. He’s an asshole, I’m calling it like I see it. A quick search shows I’m not the only one to have ran into his “infinite wisdom”. Not a problem, it’ll pass. The drop pitman arm is traaaash. Thankfully I have a new stock height one. I also ordered up a RK track bar and double sheer bracket. This will get me by until the next stage of the build. I want to just get through the winter with this setup. After that, I will determine if I want to go the rest of the way with one tons etc, or build something with 4 doors again. I am guessing I will stick with this and go full retard on it.
Did you ever resolve the issue with the RK track bar and double sheer bracket? I have this axle with a 3.5" MC lift and track bar hits the diff cover. Like you I'm trying to avoid pushing the axle back.
As already mentioned previously in the thread, this is a G2 core 44 axle, and has a G2 proprietary housing. It is NOT the same housing as standard dana 44 and must use their proprietary diff cover. The only other diff cover available for this housing is a rustys, which i run and is shown in the picture i posted. Had I known this before I ordered the axles I likely would have gone a different route, however it's a little too late for that.
That's dumb. Then get a RockJock track bar and see what happens. If it still contacts the fat cover, then use a press to reshape the track bar. Or pull the axle backwards.
It is shaped differently to the extent that a stock Dana cover won't attach.

I understand making something proprietary, but I cant believe they 100% reinvented the wheel on that casting. I would guess it is shaped like something existing.
I was thinking if you figured out what they copied but just moved mounting holes, you could get a stock version of what they copied and relocate holes.
It is very unfortunate that G2 decided to make a proprietary housing. Here's a pic of the core44 vs dana 44 cover. Most shops i go to dont believe it's different either until i show them. I hope I don't jinx myself but the core 44 has been great so far other than that. I have tried the currie track bar as well but it had worse contact than the MC.
jjvw, I have strongly considered bending the MC track bar but was hoping I wouldnt have to resort to a "custom" track bar shape. I think that's going to be the simplest option though as the jeep wheels great and is fantastic on the highway. I'd hate to mess with the alignment of things.

Having done this, I encourage the RockJock track bar because it sits further forward than MC. So it starts with a bit more room. And I have done quite a bit of reshaping to it. I have also cut off and moved the factory frame track bar mount forward to just clear the pitman arm and drag link to stretch the front out. But that's a fairly involved project where I also moved the upper spring seats forward on the frame.
Don’t t know if a offset heim would work. Might be worth looking into.
