Telemarketing question

The wife and her brother have had this happen, but I haven't yet. They get a call, no matter how many times they push the red button to hang up it won't.

They have to reboot the phone while the person/recording keeps going to stop the call.

Has this happen to anyone here?

I've got student loans from 1979 to deal with.

I've set my phone to only ring through contacts. SPAM gets automatically ignored.

Something is wrong with their phones. It's not possible for a caller to prevent a mobile station (cell phone) from terminating the channel.
