Thanks Jeff. It’s been a lot of work for 10’ish months.

I’m already in the Hemi club with my wife’s last two rigs. I am always thinking that direction…And who needs a 345 when you can 392? Though I saw the newest supercharger for the 345 is putting out horsies between the hurricane and demon, around 575’ish+ hp.

Can I say I’m pretty glad to pretty much be done with this build (for now) ?

My brother-in-law has a 2007 5.7 Ram 1500 for sale with 260k miles for $4000. He's not sure what's wrong with it, runs normal enough but will then drop oil pressure while going down the highway. Part out the rest, refresh the 5.7 and stick it in there! lol

Dorman makes a cigarette lighter puller for $30 and for me to get one is a 30 minute drive.

$0 and 23 minute on a bandsaw with some aluminum.

06-08 Gen 3 truck motors are the easier options for the TJ frame..... But it's got the pre-Eagle heads.... But that's easy to fix with a Eagle head swap....
Honestly other than bragging rights & bench racing IMO the 345 is enough motor..... It's not scary but DAMN does it have some power....
Wish my 408 hadn't broke but I can't complain about the Hemi...

Probably end up ahead at that price. I’d need to live somewhere else to get away with these kinds of projects though, and no, not BH, but the first place.

Sorry, I didn’t clarify. I did try to buy it a year ago, but my buddy wanted to hold ontobit since it was his dads who passed away 4 years ago. He said I could use it anytime I wanted. Our Sand Hollow trip was good impetus for fixing it all up. We want to paint it too. Not sure enough time for all that, but prayerfully we do well. (18’x7’). Tires are a year old.

He kept blowing the floor off so we wouldn't have to work in metal shavings. I told him you were working on gravel.

There's something to be said for a balanced & proven setup.

Had a P0455 large evap leak. Yeah, I figured after detaching the hose from the purge valve while sorting out the Hydro Assist hose routing.

Finally got to it today. Fixed it with some new hoses. Cleared the code. Should be G2G.

Midland MXT power and ground were already run to my 8-gang. I’d forgotten I set that up back when I did the HiLines. Good for me to catch up with what I did 5 months ago.

Torqued all the bolts underneath. 10 or more were just on and snugged up, not to spec. Glad I went back. G2G.

Checked my transmission fluid levels G2G.

A tiny amount of ATF today near one connection at the thermostatic bypass. I’ve snugged them all up. This could be leftover from my negligence. Hopefully now it is good.

Front axle driver side moved back another 1/8”. Should be close to perfect. Will test.

Looked at hose routings and made some corrections by zip tying hoses to keep them away from any moving parts.

Hoping that’s all and I won’t cause any problems for others in Sand Hollow.


My main fix right now is my daughters ‘09 Nissan Murano. It is NOT fun to work on. It was made for Chinese mice to work on. Got her radiator removed. Tomorrow I should get the new radiator and I can tear my hands and arms up some more installing it.

I put it through its paces today out at the ORV park. I think everything is good. I couldn’t find anything wrong. All my clearances are good.Transmission temps sit at 165F the whole time once she warmed up. I think I’m ready to rock!

It's great when things progress in a direction you want. Having an LJ, especially one built like this, is going to change your wheeling in a very positive way. It's going to climb, handle, and articulate in a way you haven't experienced before. I'll be following along for the ride!

From my extremely limited experience, I think you’re right that it’s a thing I haven’t experienced before.

The midarm is great too! Like crazy.

The brakes are wonderful for control.

The hydro assist is fantastic. Drives just like it drives onroad, firm, planted, controlled.

Those are the top three things.

The HiLines are necessary.

The 5.89’s are as good as correct you can get for 37’s and a 42rle onroad with a 4.0. I doubt much difference off-road with 35’s and 5.38’s.

The Setrab and thermostatic bypass combo give absolute confidence. Super cool!

She looking good! Reiter awaits you. I like the bumper air port. It would be nice to not have to pop the hood to air up.
