GATORB8 LJ Build

Awesome end to an awesome week. Ran Trifecta today with the Motobilt team (including El Jefe) and the group I came with. I’ll have some minor things to address but no real breaks. Getting better at managing the powertrain.

The LJ is a beast.

Yessir. That was Wednesday. Rained pretty steady in the AM so we stayed in and worked on rigs, couple pop ups that afternoon on Metal Masher.

It is crazy how fast the trail sucks up the rain there, virtually dry in less than an hour other than a couple "mud" puddles.

Dropped the temps down for a couple days after.

Been lazy as hell lately, bout time to get ready for Beasley.

Unfortunately, wife’s JL needs some attention, got a solid 50-60k out of the first set of these. Interesting Bilstein changed up the graphics on the 5160s a bit.

Awesome build! Seems like you’re local to me as I recognized outlaw in a few of the pics and possibly Ben’s LJ.

I have a LJ as well but a long long ways away from what you’ve done.

Yup, I'm in Charlotte. Friends with a bunch of the Outlaw guys.
 
Just realizing that I don’t think I mentioned the issue or took pictures (I was probably more sober and just ashamed).

So passenger barely held, but I broke the inside/backside weld from the rear UCA to the frame on the driver side. It rotated the rear section of the Barnes center section about an inch down from the frame (clockwise looking from the rear if that makes sense).

It happened in Moab sometime before the end of Trifecta.

The section is 1/4” and I could not figure out how to bend it back after a few tries over the last couple months. I took the LJ to Stacked (Diezel) down the road when he had his new shop opening last week and left it with him. He said it was a bitch and I believe him.

As you guys can probably tell, summers are hell on my schedule and I don’t get much garage time. Finally broke down and outsourced the corners to the guys at the shop. Back home and loaded up to head to Windrock after work tomorrow for Outlaw Trail Days.

His Jeep wheels as good as it looks. You can tell @GATORB8 has put a lot of time and thought into his build.
