Thank you, it was a long process. That's just a skipped trowel method for the plaster and the painting is called an "oil rubbed" finish, the complete ceiling was painted about 7-10 times with six different colors in total.Love it!
I have 'textured' ceilings but not popcorn, the style where they have loosened plaster and a circular brush/sponge. It was done in every room of my house. I found a sea sponge that works for small areas - but large textured ceiling repairs, TBD (I have one upcoming).
All that said, I saw yours and I really like it!! It's textured but not patterned. Getting a flat ceiling after a repair is a paint, doing one on a textured ceiling has pro/cons if its easier —- yours is just simple to blend and adds a nice aesthetic to the room!!!
I think it really conveys the renaissance feeling I was aiming for. In fact, a neighbor saw it yesterday and his first comment was "very Michael Angelo", I said thank you, that's exactly what I was going for. lol
