I have 'textured' ceilings but not popcorn, the style where they have loosened plaster and a circular brush/sponge. It was done in every room of my house. I found a sea sponge that works for small areas - but large textured ceiling repairs, TBD (I have one upcoming).

All that said, I saw yours and I really like it!! It's textured but not patterned. Getting a flat ceiling after a repair is a paint, doing one on a textured ceiling has pro/cons if its easier —- yours is just simple to blend and adds a nice aesthetic to the room!!!

Thank you, it was a long process. That's just a skipped trowel method for the plaster and the painting is called an "oil rubbed" finish, the complete ceiling was painted about 7-10 times with six different colors in total.
I think it really conveys the renaissance feeling I was aiming for. In fact, a neighbor saw it yesterday and his first comment was "very Michael Angelo", I said thank you, that's exactly what I was going for. lol

That's just the one I ordered to preview before spending $1,300 on them all at once, they're not cheap. There will be a total of 10 corbels, each being a different animal head. Here are the rest, but I need 10 total so one of these will be deleted.

The Rabbit is the only oddity, to me

Finished the ceiling and smoke evac vent grills and covers, but decided to wait and update after I get my medieval styled ceiling fans installed next week to show y'all the complete package.

I have two 36" "fandelabras" coming in sometime today and with the flickering flaming bulbs will look perfect in my lounge I believe. Of course, all the black metal will get some aging and rust on it first.
The wood ceiling center is only around ~48" wide so they'll be the perfect scale for the room.
Also, here's a peek of the ceiling and the evacuation vents grills I made too, once the fans are up, I'll show the whole ceiling.

So, the fans came in and looked great, but both were DOA after spending 4 hours assembling and mounting them, it was a disheartening day to say the least.
I packed em up and sent em back, spent a little more and now have two great fans.
In all my fans I've installed, I've never seen any come with muslin gloves for installation so I took it as an indication of their quality and these babies didn't disappoint. These were the nicest fans to assemble and install, very well thought out. They have glass shaped globes for the candles, but I'm gonna fill each of the candelabra bases with wax and have it dripping over as if they had real candles in them for detail.
They make the ceiling, well, add to it at least.

Just a little to keep you up to date...
Just about finished building my bookcase then comes stain, finish and finally the lighting before everything is buttoned up with the outside decorative trim.
All shelves will be lit. The section above the window is made for something very special and will be illuminated as well. There will be a bench seat below the window tying the bookcase together at the bottom. Have something big and very Medieval planned for the window and surround as well.

Decided to carry the Gothic arches throughout the bookcase, Was able to order a wooden frame just like this to my dimensions (outta my wheelhouse to make). I'll do the stained glass myself. This all ties into my Gothic arch entrance too.
I made my arches on the bookcase today (fairly simple) and my lighting came in yesterday, once everything is finished I'll post an update with pictures of the whole process.
