Mine tj is a stock 2000 with a 1.25 body lift, 1 inch wheel spacer on jk 16x9 rims with 245/75/16, want to go bigger and wider looking at 305/70 or 315/75 tires. Do some off road but mostly daily, looking at different brands anyone like the radars? What have you found that you like and why? Any information would be appreciated. Keep on rolling! Thanks Kenny

If all you have is a 1.25" body lift, you'd be wise not to go any larger than a 31".

Consider going a little wider but not taller.

Here is mine with 265/75r16 tires. They are 31.6" tall. Roughly the same as a 32" tie measures. 1-5/8" bumpstop extensions and Rancho rs5000x for 2.5 lift. Wheels are 16x8 w 4.5 " bs. Jeep is lifted 1.5". Looks taller than it is as rear is on jack stands and front is pivoting up about 1.5 inches. No rub on cycling suspension

This is 315/75R16 (metric 35x12.4) on 4” SL and 1.25” BL. I wouldn’t attempt 315s with anything smaller than 4.25” of total lift, ideally 5+. There are a lot of modifications required to properly run these. If you’re willing to put the time and cash into it, it can be worth it. But if you’re not willing to put high four figures into it, stick with something less aggressive.

The tires on your Jeep appear to have good tread. What's not working with the tires you have?

The biggest you can go is a 31x10.5

They are only 29inches tall a lot of room left and want wider, extreme jeep has video they say you can run 305s with the 1 inch lift and no issues, just want to hear what others think.

I'd sell the current rims, tires, and spacers, and buy some 15" rims and some 31x10.5x15 tires. That way you can also find the proper load range C tires much easier.

Your wheel choice has a lot of back spacing; and at 16" dia. they limit your tire choices. Are different wheels a possibility?
You beat me to it.

Are you trying to fill your fender flares? They appear to be wider than stock.

My Jeep has a totally stock suspension and I'm running 285/70/R17 (32.7x11.2) on 17"x8.5" wheels without any issues at all. I can do a U turn without going off the road and only have a little rubbing on the control arm at full turn in reverse. Height is no issue at all, but I never get off the pavement either.

That is stock suspension? How much wheel travel do you have?

Point is, you have a wheel with more than normal back spacing, and a fender flare that's wider than normal. It's going to be hard to get the look you want.

And in the example above (big tire on stock suspension); note - he does not go offroad. Nor does he list his wheel back spacing.
