Transfer case shifter confusion

I’ve seen a ton of posts about cable shifter upgrades. Well, I got the TeraFlex kit.
No major issues with install, EXCEPT 1 major one.

The stock z-bar was junked, and I don’t have a clue whether the transfer case is in 2H or 4H... I just can’t seem to tell.
Without trying to put the Jeep up on 4 jack stands, can anyone please identify the lever positions on the actual transfer case from underneath?
If the lever is approximately 11 or 12 o’clock, what is it geared in?
And from underneath, does it rotate clockwise or counterclockwise if you were looking at it from the drivers’ side?

I need to adjust the new bracket, but I can’t figure out what position it is in.

Work from the ends. The floor lever moves the shift lever on the t-case the opposite direction that you move the floor lever. Floor lever all the way forward, shift lever is all the way back. The issue with it not being on jack stands is needing the move the outputs so you can get it to shift into the modes. That is for a 231 case, do you have that or the 241?

So do you think it would be best to put it on stands so there isn’t any pressure on the wheels while trying to adjust everything?

Shifting is all about feel. If you know the order, 2H, 4H, N, 4L... Youcan figure it all out by feel. My TJR is shifted often daily. I walk the dog either on the beach ot mountain trail daily. 4H, 4L, 4L Locked every day, almost. Plus work, Backing a trailer up or down a steep "driveway" in 4L.

i love the M38, CJ5 shifters, Wiggle the shifter, learn the different positions. Let out the clutch to find the Neutral position. Not sure why anyone buys anything TeraFlex tho.

It is the same at the ends but the lever is opposite. It points up instead of down. It still has the bell crank so it moves the opposite direction of the floor lever. If you pull up on the floor lever, it moves towards the rear. The lever on the t-case is moving from front to back. So, all the way down on the floor lever is 2hi, all the way forward on the t-case lever is 2hi.

Once I installed the new TeraFlex is lever is LOCKED up.

It got too dark here, so I put the skid plate and everything back on for tonight. I just need to make sure that its not locked up in 4H or 4L

I cant tell whether its all the way forward or back on the transfer case itself... That’s why I asked about clocked positions

my 2011 has Terflex lift & shocks... absolutely love it
