What did you do to your TJ today?

Thanks Andy! Once you get closer the imperfections really start to show. It’s definitely a 5’ vehicle.

Damage from the PO. He wheeled it pretty good before I got it and all of the flares were in pretty rough shape all around. I’m ok with it though because I don’t worry about getting scratches like I would if they were perfect 👍
My white Rubi is the same story.

I like this rear seat, other than a couple issues getting it installed.

I went out today to take my TJ for a ride to get the front differential lube, hit the key and 'click!' Figure it's a bad battery connection and one was a bit loose. Tightened that up, same thing! Start looking closer, jump the starter solenoid with a screwdriver and still nothing...dead starter! I'm actually thrilled it died in the garage instead of anywhere else so I really didn't mind. Pulled her out, went and got a new one and stuck it in. I'm back on the road!
Some starter porn....

Mostly finished the install of the MORryde hinge reinforcement kit.

Three of the five spare tire bumpers are making good contact. Will need to cut one of the blanks in half and possibly trim the two halves to complete the process.

I am concerned now that my tailgate opens much wider than it did before. Is there some kind of aftermarket limiter I should be on the lookout to combat this?

No worries here... Pretty much have already figured out that I am the complete idiot... Good luck with competing with me on that account...

The second to the last one, I was able to finally get the bolt extractor to grab and remove the bolt. On the last one, I was unable to get a bolt extractor to grab hold and ultimately ended up drilling out the bolt to the point that I was able to just move the hinge away and remove the remainder of the bolt with a pair of plyers. Sorry I don’t have a pic of the leftover bolt, pretty sure that will be found down the alley by some advanced culture at some point...

I just kept drilling to try and get an extractor bit to hold until I got to the point that I could tell that I “drilled through” and the hinge was free.

It was a bit unnerving at the time until I remembered that it didn’t really matter if I drilled through the hinge as I was going to replace it anyway.

Hope this helps you and good luck with your project!

Lol hold my beer in the idiot part!! Thanks for the tips. I think I need a larger extractor bit at this point. I’ll give it another go this weekend. Unfortunately for me, I need the fresh paint underneath the worn out plate so I have to be cautious!

Absolutely nothing to worry about. I have the same hinges and the design will not let them swing past the stop, unlike the factory design. i did install some 1/4" rubber blocks on the body side to keep it from clanking and to protect the wiring from my 3rd brake light/license plate mount. they swing open on a different arc than the factory hinges but they stop securely, no need to limit them.

Got her hard top and full doors on today.. letting my oldest borrow for a few weeks because he just sold his truck... Hope I get it back in the same condition I left it with him😳
Those bronze wheels are so sexy on the black. I'm restoring a '94 Quadrunner, and have repaired all the broken plastic and just decided to bedline it. My kid was like "Paint the wheels bronze dad"...exactly what I was thinking.

Thank you.. I really like it and get a lot of compliments on it..it would look great on the quad👍🏻
The picture never does it justice .. they look better in person...

Set the Antirock to the stiffest setting this morning. Yes.. the stiffest setting. Many switchbacks for my daily drive to and from the valley, and boy does that stiff setting make me smile! It’s full point and shoot now, stays planted in all the turns and I can give it way more gas with so much body roll negated. Loving it! When I move back to solid ground, it’ll go back to middle but it’s great for now!

Be glad it's not either of my sons ...they would tear up an iron anvil with a rubber hammer.

When my boys were like 5 and 10, I came home and the dog was digging under the fence, and they were helping him.

Bryson won't hurt it, you are just going to have a hard time getting it back once he finds out what a chick magnet it is. 🤣

The wheels look awesome in person... he put a lot of work into those ...at one time I wondered what he had gotten himself into.

That TJ sits all of 4" up, but it has great, great road manners, no weird vibes or squeaks jerks it's a solid TJ.
He's played the whole build really smart.

Take your time, do it right.
I've got a box FULL of stuff to put on, did the clutch slave a week or two ago (cause it shit out), plugs, wires, TC shift cable..prb more in the box I can't remember. Oh, rear MCE's sitting in the bed...color match the MCE's...
I have a 200 foot driveway and am tired of shoveling snow, wife bought the quad for me about 7-8 years ago from gvt auction (SC forest service LE vehicle). I got it running at our old place, but it's just been sitting here. When I decided to sell/ ditch all the shit we don't need, she was like "sell it". Nope, I'm resurrecting it and buying a plow for it. Then maybe the boys will want to shovel the drive ;) (cause they can do "snownuts".)

Colder weather coming ...wife out of town next week...so I took off early and took her for a long cruise and dinner in the RinoCon.

She got a little windblown...her hair is too short to tie up and too long to contain...she's tried every hairband deal (except Warrant, Firehouse and Motley Crue) with marginal results ...so we out the top up, with no windows ...it's been folded back all summer and needed stretched out ....and since I didn't have the surrounds on I slapped two bungees side to side to keep it from flapping above the doors...worked great.

We toured "The Reserve"on the way home ... nice mountainside development overlooking Guntersville Lake.

I don't know about you guys, but owning these things and building them or sorting them out, and getting on here and helping or confusing others that are trying to do the same thing, becomes such a big part of ownership that driving it just fills the gaps sometimes.

I'm extremely pleased with my RinoCon ..it's at 76,000 miles, everything works, everything is there, it's still " fresh" so to speak underneath, no carnage, rust or sloppy bushings, drives great...at 10,200.00 In with a new Bestop, 8000 lb Warn Winch, Banks Exhaust, professionally installed tow bar and Mickey Thompson tires ...it will likely be the best all around TJ for the money I ever own. Not the best out there, just a good package.

The bedliner finish is so wild...I get raves about it ..I mean folks at red lights, etc. Bugs just fall off if it, it's infinity repairable if you nick it, you can lay tools on it when you work...it's just a really easy to keep finish that has a really need sheen, especially in low light. I realize it's not the ideal for a valuable TJ, but this was really accurately done and works fine for what this TJ costs and does.
