What did you do to your TJ today?

Matkal great job !!! Is that a “thin” wheel there on the spare, I am looking for a skinny 15” wheel to mount it inside the Jeep with a skinny tire, like a 6” wide wheel that will fit the TJ 4.5” bolt pattern, what kind of wheel is that if you don’t mind ?
Thank you! It’s an 80s(?) Mopar wheel I’m pretty sure it’s wider than 6”….7” I think and yes it’s a 4.5” bolt pattern. The offset is less than the TJ wheels so it the tires stick out a bit from the fender flairs.

Thanks will look into that !

Used the power washer to wash all the MOab red mud off today.

Changed the weather strips for the hardtop rear glass. I used the Crown replacements and the fit and quality were good.

A tip for installing weather strips start the ends first then stretch or shrink to fit over the largest distance possible. You can account for a few inches either way, these needed to be stretched a bit.

Nice fit from the inside tiny bit of light in the corner but much better and shouldn’t leak in normal conditions.

Started making a trunk. Just the top piece so far. The cool thing is that if I fold the back seat down, I can get it into place without taking the side windows out, so my plan is to make the part that goes against the back seat where it can go in separately and attach to the top piece. I'm thinking carraige bolts on the outside with wingnuts on the inside to attach the top of the vertical piece to the horizontal top piece. Propbably some turnbucklels to attach the vertical piece to the floor.

I wanted to get some exterior paint on it to seal it up before I carpet it. My gf had some leftover paint, so now its a pretty shade of coral blue... I ordered some black boat carpet this morning. I have some d ring tie downs that I'll be adding as well.

Tip: These 48" carbineer bungees from HF fit well using t he factory holes for the hard top mounts. 5 bucks each.

Nice! What did you use? I don’t have bright aluminum wheels on my TJ, but I did on my F-350. I used Protect-All (a liquid carnuba wax intended for RVs, but I use it on everything) applied with a Mother’s Power Ball on my cordless drill. It made those aluminum wheels look almost chrome.

I fixed a very annoying squeak in the dashboard. I found that the squeak stopped when I reached up & jammed my fingers in the gap above the speedometer/tach enclosure so I tried jamming different things like rubber or plastic tubing into the gap & they all worked for awhile until they either compressed or popped completely out. Today I bought some pink gum erasers that I found in the office supplies department at Wal Mart. I cut them down so that they would fit onto the gap very tightly & now the squeak is GONE! I put 4 of these eraser pieces into the gap & I think it’s going to be a permanent fix. I might color them black with a magic marker or something, but they really don’t show because the Jeep is lifted & you would need to be on a step ladder to see the gap.

Anyone know of any metal wheel well inserts for the TJ? I have aftermarket fenders on that are open and nothing to protect the engine bay from water and mud.
