Its been back in the high 100s lately so that probably doesn't help. Gotta say summer has been fairly mild for Phoenix but its still over 100° alot.
GTFO!! Mild aint what I would call it.

Well it beats the hell out of 116°!! Actually had a real monsoon season for once. Quite a bit of rain cooled things off
…did a fuel leak down test and I'm definitely losing a lot of pressure once the pump shuts down, so I ordered the Bosch pump for $45...

I just did a complete assembly on my ‘97. I was starting to get long starts after it sat. After some reading, I surmised that it was the pressure regulator (which sits on top of the fuel pump assembly and is what holds pressure in the line after shut down). So I borrowed a fuel pressure gauge and found that my pressure when running was within spec at 51 PSI, but rapidly (in a minute) went down under 20 after it was turned off. That indicated, I think, the pump was good but the regulator was bad. Also my long start issue wasn’t present if I cycled the key 2-3x before starting (the 1.5 second or so pump activity after turning the ignition to ON pressurized the line again). You can buy a pressure regulator and replace it separately but all the ones I found were 1/2 the price of a whole assembly. I had the good fortune of finding a new complete Bosch unit, so I jumped on it. The old one wasn’t OEM at 160K. Now pressure stays at 50 after 20 minutes and no long starts in am.

did you replace the entire assembly or just the pump piece? I just ordered the pump because I have the exact same thing on the 2002, but I would just as soon replace the entire thing.
Amazon came through with my patch kit. I’m going to try to muster up the motivation to get started on this project over the extended weekend. Lots of welding and wrenching in the near future.
