What did you do to your TJ today?

I got rid of my check engine light issues once and for all today!

My ODB2 port was smashed, and the CEL had been on since I got the jeep running. Turning the key 3 times showed me a O2 sensor code, so I replaced the sensor a month or so ago. Today, I was finally able to clear the codes and it's GONE!!!!

Just read this.....

Generally, the outside temperature sensor is located under the front of the hood near the bottom of the car. Although the sensor itself is accurate, the location causes the sensor to pick up heat from the road surface. Thus, it will usually read several degrees higher than the air temperature.

So anywhere away from the road or engine heat.....the cowl could work.

Trial and error might be the way to go.

Yup, I’m in for $1.79 + about $0.25 of 16ga wire so I’’m obviously committed .

Thx. I saw something similar in an older post and figured bottom of the front grill support would be better since it was further out of the engine bay.

Technically it was yesterday that lead me to today. Yesterday I gave the LJ a bath and detail, I also pulled out my winch rope for no other reason than i've owned the jeep a year now and have never used it but for verifying it worked when I purchased it.

Anyway, I went to plug in the remote and it wouldn't fit into the socket. no matter how loud I cursed, it just wouldn't plug in. I wrapped up the rope and threw it on the hood and parked the jeep into the garage as it was now close to supper time. This morning I go out and try to figure out what the heck is going on with a clearer head. Sure enough, the male plug of the remote would not insert into the socket on the winch. Not really sure what had happened. But to solve for it... I used a heat gun on the socket surround and viola' this permitted the plug to stretch the ID of the socket enough to insert and seat itself.

So... my PSA is to plug in your remotes more than once a year. :)
