What did you do to your TJ today?

Went to the carwash with a sponge to get the road salt off everything (especially underneath). Froze my fingers off with the cool 25 degree temp outside. Made it back home without throwing up too much more salt.😎 It might snow some more on Sunday.

Read this from Firestik. You may have to run a ground wire from the tub to the tailgate to help your match. I mounted mine on an L bracket above the driver's taillight. Flat match once I got rid of the tennis ball. Couldn't ask for better.
Thanks Old_Crow. I will check it out. I started to use the taillight bracket, but favored putting it more in the middle because of narrow brushy trails. Less things to hit......I've read here that shorter FireStik's work well in small groups, so I may get a shorter one for trail rides.

Can you reach Zorba with that thing? 🥳
HaHa! Thanks Boogieman. Hey I really like your setup. I already have a Zone combo lift, shocks, and track bar in the barn, stockpiling everything for the build. Planning on regearing to run 35's. Still have the gearing, lockers, brakes and steering to go. What transmission do you have? I have the 5 speed (NV3550 I think) and was planning to run the 4.88's.

What mount did you use to mount it up top? I need to install my radio soon.
I used this as my mount. I like the location, but I'm wondering if it's strong enough. I got the full size cb because I wanted a Cobra with weather. It weighs about 5 lbs. The ARR mount will be my next option if this one doesn't hold up. Coincidentally, I was in Omaha a couple weeks ago. Highest temp I saw was 16F. That's COLD for a Florida boy.🥶

I ordered the same rugged ridge mount. I am gonna be running a Uniden radio. Keep us informed!!!

It doesn’t matter how much I clean my wheels at the car wash, inevitably there’s some dirt still hiding somewhere that flings up all over the Jeep as soon as I drive away.

My 10" wide wheels don't make that any better. I've been looking for some 8" aluminum wheels lately, but a lot of them weigh almost as much as steel wheels and prices are Bidendiculous for at least 3 more years. 🤫

It’s not the width that’s my issue(well that lets it spray up) but the beadlock ring has a lip that traps a little pool of water.

Got my first Jeep on Saturday.....2006 Rubicon. Put it on the lift today. Flushed radiator, changed oil and filter, checked fluids on tranny, and diffs. Checked for any loose parts, checked for any bad ujoints, etc. Rotated tires, found no oil leaks and no rust. Tightened emergency brake, checked disc brakes for wear. I've bought several vehicles and boats only to spend money on them and then sell them, usually for a loss. However, this time I feel sure I have a keeper.

Nice! And Welcome. A TJ Rubicon is a keeper. Unless you wreck it pretty badly, it will hold its value very well.

Waiting on some flat stock for the bottom frame/bumper brace, so I decided to make a better bracket for the rear fog lite:

I really wanted to have a nice hole for the wiring to pass through - BUT - there was a pre-existing slot in the metal that threw off my drill when I tried to drill one - so I just made a valley cut instead.

Trial fitment - it'll be welded in place.

Today I was greatly rewarded for driving my TJ…got home from the gym and saw a drip 🤬. It appears my steering box is leaking, I saw where @Jerry Bransford mentioned emptying out the PS fluid and using some Lucas stop leak fluid in there. Going to try that Friday, if anyone else has any experience here feel free to share. The Jeep must have known we were closing in on a year without a mid-level repair being needed 😂

So long as it's the 'Stop Leak Power Steering Fluid' from Lucas it's the right stuff. No guarantees but it fixed my leak within a day or two.
Yes, I found your comment on something from November, worth a shot. I have some small work being done at the shop at the end of the month so they can give it a look over then as well if it hasn’t stopped. I was supposed to hit some trails next weekend, but not super confident I should if it doesn’t seal up.
