What did you do to your TJ today?

How would they know?
In order to stay on the road we have to have a safety inspection every 6 months for me (younger cars get 1-2 years between inspections)... they do something like a 50 point inspection including the lights..they check the beam height and the type of bulb etc.

One of the rules was you cant have an LED bulb (like a side light) and a normal headlight bulb in the same housing..then the next year its ok to have that set up....It just gets crazy.
If it don't pass then you run the risk of the plod pulling you over and giving you a ticket and ordering you off the road... plus insurance will not cover you without an up to date inspection sticker. 🙄

The Toyota headlight mod is the best bang for the buck ($70?)IMO. Unfortunately for me I heard about it just after I ordered a set of Cibie H4 housings , about $130 with 80/100 watt bulbs.
From what Daniel Stern says the Toyotas are a bit better than CIBIE that are no longer available. I've had CIBIE for years on the XJ including upgraded harness and they've been fine. No flame throwers by any stretch but vast improvement over OEM.
I have 20* Vision X on the XJ when I need to reach out.
Off-roaders on the LJ are wide halogen to light the ditches. And Toyota for the road. Harness in hand and on the list.

Took my daughter out to a West Coast beach on Sunday...she needed some pics for school and I needed the fresh air.
I did notice the road was much better than it was last year when the road was washed out due to heavy rain.

Lucy the LJ turned 17 and hit 50K miles so I thought it was time to Just Empty Every Pocket before I roll out to Moab in two weeks.

Short story....
-4.56 gears
-Eaton Elockers front and rear
-Trussed dana 30 HP
-Voswitch switch panel

Local New Mexico shops wanted $2k in labor so I just dropped some extra $$$ in tools and 50 hours on YouTube and did it myself.

I wrapped up the hard part tonight! Time for gear break in.

Question? How do I wire the eaton wire harness to a Voswitch switch panel?

I paid $45 out the door for the Toyo kit. The harness alone is worth a good chunk of that.
Although I can’t see it all, that wire looks like the coax that goes back to the radio. That’s not a ground wire.
Yeah.. it's just above the antenna base.. you can see the spliced eye zip tied to the antenna. So can that be used as a ground wire? I bought a separate ground strap that I was going to snake inside wrapped around the coax and ground to the back of the window bar clips' mounting screws

With stock bulbs the Toyos output is decent. Outstanding deal, but only decent output when compared to what even the cheapest LEDs put out. I bought the Hella 100/80s from Q-Tec for $2 a bulb and it was a vast improvement. I'm not crazy about the color.. I actually like the hyper white color of the LEDs, but the pattern is immensely better than either of the knock-off LEDs lights I've had in the TJ. Probably can find a compatible hyper white H4 bulb but I am good to wait until these bulbs die. I have Hella 500FF's w/ 55w H3s up front as well and color match is spot on.

You should have received a wiring harness with relay and a switch.
