Morning, John from Daytona Beach, via Philadelphia, here. One month ago I crossed off a 40 year old bucket list item and purchased an ‘02 TJ Sport. As it came from MI there is no end to what it needs, but I am slowly doing what I can, from most needed on down. Did Safety cap frame rails down both sides, shocks- Chris, thanks for the post on suspension hardware, was very helpful. The interior is nice, other than the usual fan switch missing a setting, etc. Today I do a bit more on front end components, and next week starting the not-2bad body work it needs. The funniest part- my kids think it’s their Jeep! Good times. You folks are a blessing, believe me. Look forward to meeting up if anyone makes it to forthcoming Jeep Beach in Daytona.

Just curious. Since oil for the NV3550 is like liquid gold I went on Raevnol's web site to check them out. They show that for the NV3550 you should use their Syncromesh oil. I could not for the life of me find the product shown in your picture SSG 75W-80.

Wait...you live in Florida and bought a jeep from Michigan? If that isn't the most backwards thing I've heard in a while! As a Michigan Jeep owner...I feel obliged to ask if you got it for free!

Why I bought a Michigan Jeep when I live in Florida. Short story: When I turned 17 I told my parents that I was tired of them telling me what to do and I wanted to enlist in the Army. Let the irony steep. My father, himself a Vet, chuckled a little and said “Ok.” Things clearing up for you? 
Actually, I set a budget for the vehicle and for repairs and this one fit. Even with the frame kit and other things it needs vs. the one I nearly bought I’m still ahead $2k. I didn’t weld the Safety caps on but I was there and did a lot of the grunt prep work which was a good intro to working on a Jeep. Today was new steering stabilizer, front shocks, and putting the running boards back on. Tomorrow is ‘Drive On The Beach Saturday.’ You Michiganites going ice fishing?

Finished up the sliders and bumpers, put the interior back in , and now I just need to get the top on and she is pretty much complete.
I don't remember where I read this. But something like 3% of car buyers choose yellow? Or maybe it was in my Jeeps production year 3% chose yellow? Either way a very rare color.

Thank you for the words of welcome. In just a few weeks on this forum I have learned a lot, and saved a lot of time by reading what others have done and how to do it. And to you Michiganers please know I’m joking, if I were there I’d go ice fishing with you! Met quite a few people down here from UP. And I look at it as my TJ spent some years in MI, then retired to Florida! As I said, if anyone comes down for Jeep Beach or Bike Week or ? give a shout. First

I am planning on going to Jeep Beach, coming from the Jax area. Not sure how many days/events I will attend. Any advice?
Now that Radio Shack is gone, where did you get the capacitor? I have a diode laying around from some changes I did to my truck lighting.
Installed a new car stereo. Its a double DIN with a new radio/AC control bezel. All from Crutchfield.
