What did you pay for your TJ?

Paid $9800CAD after tax for my 1997 base model 2.5L TJ with factory half doors. It had 180082KM on the clock when i bought it.

P.O did a reman long block + trans, new clutch/master/slave/throwout bearing, balljoints, starter, radiator.

It had a set of 1st gen ("OG") 35/10.5R15 BFG mud terrains with a 1" wheel spacer, a 1" BL and a new 2" Rough Cuntry suspenion lift with factory CA's that rode like sh*t

Pictured is the day I bought it parked in front of my daily at the time waiting for the ferry home. Paint was in decent shape but the hood was spray painted and now 5 years later has faded substantially.

This is from I flew to Halifax and drove it home to Newfoundland the next day. 4.0, 6 speed and 189,000 kms. It’s a 2005.

And NO tires to speak of. Fun 600 km drive home in torrential downpours.

About 400 miles and $85 murican.

Not a big fan of metric either but it’s here to stay. Used in a lot more countries than you think.

My son tells me metric is superior because it makes calculations easier.

The only reason for calculations is to convert to imperial.

2006 Willys edition. Paid $17,000 for it stock with 3,500 miles on it in 2006. Sold it for $22,000 with 12,500 miles on it 7 years later (lifted on 35s). MINT condition. Not one scratch.

Oh yeah, I'm around 70K now. It was my daily driver for the first 2 years and then turned into my going to the mountains rig. About 2 years ago it turned into a garage queen and only comes out for fun now.

That's basically the story of mine, too. I'm averaging right at 1,000/year for the last 5-6.

Bought mine 10/2008, 43k on the clock, paid $5,500. This was taken a week after purchase while installing the first lift kit, and before installing my "big" 33's.

On a plane home from a metric country now and I like metric for engineering but I don’t like it for driving km kind of suck. Hard to get used to always driving 100.

Also much prefer Freedom to Communist. Setting the climate in the rental car to 20 means nothing to me.

I'd make an educated guess that your new-to-you TJ has been stored indoors for most of it's life ya? I work with a fella from St. Johns out on the west coast here and he has nothing good to say about the weather nor what that climate does to the vehicles

Purchased this one around 2016 with 97k on the odometer - once the taxes got lumped in, I paid just over $8k. The picture is about a year after we purchased it. We still have it - it is a summer time pavement-pounder and spends 99% of the summer topless.
