My first Jeep was going to be Cherokee when I was 16 in 96 but I couldn't find one in my price range, so I bought a Suzuki sidekick — it sucked.

In 1998 - bought a 88 YJ and put a 2.5 Rubicon Express lift and 33s on it. It was a great jeep, but the carb was a pain.
In 2000 - bought a 98 TJ, which went through many phases 31s with budget lift, 33s with coils, then 35s with full kit and eventually 36 iroks with detroits and lockrite.
In 2010 - the 98 was just too built and I got a great offer so I bought a 2006 Tj rubicon and build it up with 33s - Plan to build an Overlander Tj
In 2012 - Traded the Tj Rubicon for a 2008 JK Unlimited Rubicon for a straight trade.
In 2016 - Life changed with kids so sold the JK Overland build. Bought a Jeep WK and a 2005 LJ Rubicon.
In 2023 - The LJ Rubicon is amazing — I'll never sell it and sold the WK for a 2022 Ram Power Wagon which is now on 37s

Mine was a 1974 Cherokee 2 door with a 258 and a 3 speed floor shifter. The 258 was real tired so I bought a wrecked CJ and transplanted the 304 into the Cherokee. Put on a JC Whitney dual exhaust kit and a new compressor for the dealer add on air conditioning, tinted the windows dark and added fender flares trying to make my own Cherokee Chief. It was a great family vehicle and we went everywhere in it and never once got stuck. Unfortunately I don't have any pics but it was tan with orange stripes.

Our first was a 84 Wagoneer Ltd. ( Think Cherokee with wood grain panels ) . We were very poor and wanted a 4 wd. we could all fit in 2 adults 2 kids, all we had at the time were a K-10 and a K-20 regular cabs. The Jeep came along 2.8 V-6 , 5 spd. 3.73 and totally loaded and at $3000.00 bucks we could barely afford it. It was 9 years old and a huge blessing to us for 4 years. Looked like this.

04 TJ Sport. Bought it in 08 when I was 20 and daily drove it till 2017 when the engine let go and I had about $40 to my name. Fast forward a few years after rebuilding my life and I swaped in a new LS engine in 2019. Still drive it today. This thing has accompanied me through a lot of my adult life and I have no plans to ever let it go.

I was 15 when I bought a 1948 CJ2A with a flathead 4. Motor finally gave up so we put a 225cid buick V6 in it with an advanced adapter. Had it many years, Never got over selling it. Now have aa 2001 Sport and and an 03 Rubicon. My estate can sell them when I tip over. I would never consider selling either one at any amount of money.

A gold-brown 1974 CJ5 with a 258, 3-speed, and factory hardtop (steel). I drove it until the family started growing and wouldn't fit in it. I can't find my box of pictures with shots in the Colorado Rockies.

Does this count as my first Jeep? Image below was similar to mine.

There was a clapped out AMC Eagle for sale locally recently for 2k. Powder blue, sedan. It needed a bunch of work, but I couldn't help but want it. Unfortunately wife put her foot down last year and told me no more project vehicles until I install some more parking in the yard. I'm going to put in 2 parking pads this summer. I need another project that I can turn wrenches on. All my projects are running pretty good right now.🤷‍♂️

You had more money at 29 than I have now. Oops, I forgot I just sold my tinted windows an hour ago. I have $100 now. Just enough for a Starbucks coffee, 3 day old pastry and a tip. :(

Don't make me try to remember all of my Jeeps AND the years I had them. Too much stress. 🤕

My first Jeep was a 1974 Jeep CJ-5 I bought the week before Thanksgiving 1974. It was sitting on the local Chevrolet dealer's used car lot. An older gentleman had bought it new the fall of 73 when it was new. The salesman said he traded it for a pickup after driving it through the winter. He did not like the soft top and the sub par heater. I had it for almost 3 years. Almost got it paid off and lost my job and could not continue to make payments....Something like $85/month.....

I loved the thing... Got it stuck within an hour of buying it..... This is it the Summer of '75.... It was a lot redder than this pic shows. Those are the tires that were on it when I bought it, and they were still on it when I took it back to the bank.
