I wanted a 1972 Nova when they first came out. Was also looking at the AMC Javalin. But liked the Nova better. Congrats on the 72 Nova!!

It was a cool car. I had a 69 as well a few years after that one.

My brother had a CJ-5 so had to be diffrent. My first rig was 1970 FJ-40. I like the TJ but sure miss the cruiser.

I take that back, mine wasn't the Kadett model, it we the Rekord model. It looked Just like this one.

72 Pinto Runabout. Got my drivers license the day I turned 16. Next day, bought this for $700. I didn't care what I drove, as long as I could get out of the house, lol!

Hung on to that car for 25 years. Why? I'm not exactly sure, lol! Sold it in 2009 for $1200.

I got my driver's license the day I turned 16 and drove my car to school.

a 1981 Ford Mustang with 4 cyl and auto, drove it to high school. It didn't matter how slow that car was, I loved it as it got me out of the house and on my first road trips.

First car was a 1982 Cutlass Calias...Had that car for 9 months. In that time, I had to pull the heads twice, add a quart of oil per tank, it overheated on me, I got it stuck more times than I can count (16 year old with a RWD car in Michigan winters is NOT a good idea) and the gas gage didn't work, so 2x I ran out of gas...once on a date (not a good one). It was a PILE...

I replaced it quickly with a 91 S10. It was a 4 banger no options, but it was shiny and I put a nice stereo in it...also some wheels, tonneau, etc. Thought I was billy bad-ass in that thing.

My first car was a 1980 AMC Eagle. 258 straight six with auto four wheel drive. Got it free from a friend of the family. And I beat that thing and it never stopped till I spun out in the snow and ran it backwards into a tree. I consider it my first Jeep.

1975 Vauxhall Magum 1800 ...had a massive oil leak and blew the engine after a week.(Lesson learnt on that)..so I dropped in a 2.3L Bedford van engine in it instead. Was an amazing 'sleeper'.
Don't have a pic but it was sort of like this one. Mine was turquoise with a black vinyl roof. just stunning haha

My first car was a '68 Chevy Impala coupe with a 396 that came from my Grandmother, the first car I bought myself was a '78 Jeep CJ7. The first of more than a dozen Jeeps.

What an amazing first car.
75$ is almost 500$ in todays money. Crazy how inflation makes things seem so cheap back then.

Love this question. The first vehicle I bought, a 1952 M38. We crossed the creek, only the snorkel, exhaust and our shoulders out of the water. Sold it within a year and bought a TransAm.... big mistake. Took 20 years to buy a Wrangler.
