Very true - "its biology stupid". Its hard for me to elucidate this well, so bear with me: Much of what is considered "feminine" vs. "masculine" is so much made up bullshit. Skirts, heels, makeup, long hair, whatever. The "rules" pertaining to same have no basis in reality, and change over time and space. OTOH, gonads and chromosomes are pretty immutable. Body build, breasts or lack thereof, and "brain wiring" are pretty immutable as well, although exceptions exist on both directions. Such exceptions are extremely rare, and as others have pointed out, shouldn't be the basis of all the current bullshit. Why/how this nonsense SUDDENLY became a "thing" is beyond me and baffling.
I do have a somewhat half baked theory as to what part of it might be. Males in general are terrified of ANYTHING that might be perceived as "feminine" - thus "masculine" has become defined largely as "not-feminine". Once the women "take over" something, its perceived as "feminine" and off limits. Beauty is denied to males - therefore a male seeking beauty for himself feels that he must become a woman to the greatest extent possible to find it. Males can't wear skirts, etc, etc - so maybe some feel that they HAVE to be a woman to do so. I don't know - this is idle speculation on my part.
As for myself, I'm just a guy in a skirt - nothing more. Doing so doesn't make me a woman any more than wearing a stethoscope makes one a doctor! I don't "do" bras as I don't have breasts and don't want them either; they're a hassle and bras are a pain in the ass - ask any woman. I've been asked a time or two which pronoun I preferred - I always point to my facial hair and say "Thanx for asking, but I'm a guy." In my particular spirituality/belief system/religion/whatever, one chooses their gender before birth and it changes from life to life, probably mostly alternating. I chose to be male in this life, and that's what I am! I just don't believe in arbitrary restrictions that have no basis in reality (read: "basis in biology").
At any rate, that's my musings on the subject, right or wrong. I've thought at length on the subject for obvious reasons. I am open to questions - I get a lot of them, and you really can't "offend" me by asking. Years back I was in one of those huge antique malls somewhere in Louisiana, looking pretty much like a "normal" male with the exception of a long denim skirt (OK, long hair and earrings too). A lady approached me: "I don't mean to offend, but..." - she was simply curious. We had a nice talk, "why would I be 'offended'...". Anyway, I'm rambling now, I'm always too verbose!
