New OME 2.0 lift questions

Just a note i have the OME springs, when i took off the front set i noticed one was about 3/8'' higher than the other, i've used the ACOS adjustable coil over system to level it out now but mine are probably 10 years old and came with the car when i bought it.

The OME springs are designed with one side higher than the other. This is actually to level the Jeep from side to side. When you buy a new set, one is labeled A and the other B. These are side specific. No other spring does this that I know of, but there are some specs in a thread that some of us took by comparison with H&R, and it looked like the OME’s did keep it more level from left to right.

I talked to ARB about this and they said that originally that is because of the right hand drive jeeps. You know @Kiwi TJ style. Both A's go on the right side because most of the weight will be on that side, but here in left hand drive land there is no real rule of thumb. He said you can put them where ever you want and if there is a lean you can swap them to the other side, but he did say that most people do

if you are sitting in the TJ, but that isn't always right. If your truck leans in that formation, then swap them across,

That all said that is exactly how I did mine. I found that interesting.

Great info! Thanks

Can a 1.75" or 1" spacer be added to the front and just pull the 10mm spacer out? Was reading that usually when a winch was added a 3/4" spacer atleast was needed up front.

When I installed my OME kit I found the below from ARBs website:

SPECIFICATIONS

A/B Fitment

As a general rule, the A springs have a higher free height than the B coils. This is to allow the fitter to compensate for driver weight, aftermarket accessories, vehicle weight distribution, and chassis twist. We suggest taking measurements at each corner before fitting the new suspension components. This will allow for more accurate A/B fitment.

In vehicles with front and rear A/B springs, most of these vehicles will be happiest with an A coil fitted to the front, driver corner and the opposite rear, passenger corner. In vehicles with only rear A/B springs, most will end up with the A spring on the rear, driver corner.

It must be understood that due to the A/B variation, the first spring selection may result in the vehicle to be unlevel. If this is the case, swapping spring locations is necessary before trying other trimming methods.

This is what happened to me when I installed my OME lift many moons ago. Ended up with a slight lean to the right rear. Swapped rears and it helped.
Height difference on rears,

Being a total jeep newb at the time I installed the lift, I didn't think to measure the jeep's height prior to install, so I learned the hard way by having to swap springs.

I hate that. You get all done, tires back on, getting ready to put all the tools away, you're all proud of yourself for the DYI install, and you realize you have to do it all over again. Been there done that.

I drove it around for several months like that before swapping them over. I was tired and kinda bummed out when I did it, and said screw it. Went home and had a few adult beverages to drown my sorrows, lol!

Rather than getting new springs in the rear I'm going to get these for the front and pull out the 10mm OME spacer. That should account for the added weight of the heavy as shit Warn winch lol and eliminate the raaakkkkeee lol. Opinions?

I'll have to measure from ground to middle of flare on front and back to see what I need exactly. Hate to put those on and have the front higher than the rear haha

Couple days ago I measured the rock rail to ground and it wasn't that much rake only like an inch and a half. I'll measure your way and see what I get. How much rake do you have? Doesn't look like much

That's why I want ya'll to measure at the exact same place so we can have a true measure. I have 0.5" rake. Just how I like it!

This is way to accurate, but make sure you have a full tank of gas to. Won't that make a difference in the measurement? Mine doesn't look to much different from yours, maybe I don't have as much rake as I thought.
