Taking the windshield down with KC Xcross light bar

I know plenty of guys who wheel their JK's, including me. The angry birds grilles don't have any trouble on the rocks. But don't let me ruin the fun. :)

No one's saying JKs can't wheel. JKs are way more capable offroad stock for stock compared to a TJ, and JLs are even more capable.

What we're talking about is that the proportion of people who actually offroad their TJs is much higher compared to a JK/JL.

I know that a lot of them do, but I also know that a lot of them don't. Too many JKs are driven by soccer moms let their husbands add mods that they'll never use.
A guy I use to work with bought his wife a VERY kitted out JK that even SHE admitted would never see dirt. The guy that built it up, or rather HAD it built, told them that he did it JUST to take his daughter to lunch on weekends.

My butt is not remotely hurt on this topic, but that's not at all what we're talking about here. But I also don't get why notions about what other people do with their jeeps live rent free in everybody's head. I can't imagine devoting time to thinking about it. It's whatevs. I just wanted to get a reasonable counterpoint out there, which I've done. Now carry on with the memes already, I've got work I want to avoid. :)

Agreed on all points. To me the whole TJ vs JK rivalry is just a meme, nothing to get worked up about. ;) And I say this as someone who went from a built JK Rubicon to a stock LJ.

Who better to make fun of them than us? Besides SOME of us are retired and DON'T have work to think about.

My new XJ. Don't be jealous. 🤫
p.s. A light bar is my next mod.

You’ll need to explain that one a bit. How so?

Pretty sure JK is still better.

You may be right. I always forget about the shovel on the stock TJ…

But that original V6 (Before the Pentastar)? I’d definitely give the 4.0 the edge.

I guess one forgets some thing after they go “tons and fodeez”.

Love your build man btw! Any plans for an engine swap? 😏

I think I remember reading somewhere that a TJ would need a mid arm suspension to equal the stock JK suspension.

As far as engines, I'd take the 4.0 inline over the 3.8 V6 all day every day.

An Unlimited JK with the 3.8, auto, and slightly oversize tires can be downright dangerous when pulling into traffic.

My 2017 JK had the 3.6 Pentastar and it was much stronger than the 3.8 or the 4.0, but you had to rev it to get the power.

My 4.0, 5 speed, 4.56 geared TJ "feels" very strong due to all the torque, but then you look down after that furious bit of acceleration and you're going 50 mph :p

In my experience, the JK was a much better car, but my TJ is a better Jeep.

This was my experience as well, going from a 3.6 JKU to 4.0 LJ!

3.6 is better suited for the city, but you have to rev it out for sure. Offroad that’s solved with the 4:1 tcase.

The 4.0 is torquey but slow, sorta like a diesel. I gotta say I prefer the 4.0 hands down!
