6.1 LJR Build

Looking good.!!
Yes sir, you're finding out same as I did that the last 10% of things to do end up taking about 50% of the time... Kind of like building a house.
I'm also very interested in what oil filter relocation kit they used and exactly where and to what they mounted it to. Like you stated, it gets really busy under there and not a lot of room just anywhere..
Keep us posted.!!

Not sure which one it was but I’ll ask when I stop by tomorrow.

Also wondering what transfer case shifter linkage they used. They may not have had any issues and reused what you already had since you are using the original transmission and t-case. Was the complete exhaust system from Holly.? Want to hear what it sounds like to compare to mine. Mine might be a little on the loud side, but I'm going to give it more time and see what it's like with the hardtop off.
I definitely know what it feels like to be this close.!!

The exhaust is Holleys complete setup. From the headers back. I believe they went with a Novak setup on the linkage. Not 100% sure but I’ll ask that tomorrow as well. Just wasn’t a ton of room under there. Hoping it’s not too bad but I’ve got a couple different mufflers I’ll try out. I’ve got a Valvtronics muffler as well I might try to run it open or closed. We’ll see what this one sounds like first though.

So they used the linkage off of the LJ with the same swap they had just finished. Only differences in the 2 keeps is mine is a manual and a true rubicon. I guess there’s enough differences in the linkages that the one will work and the other won’t. Oil filter relocation kit was from Improved Racing.

Everything is aesthetically done. AC lines turned out great. Driveshaft was getting installed as I was getting there. Intake was completed but we’re still going to pull the elbow out and paint it black since that sticks out pretty bad. We’re waiting on two oil line fittings that will hopefully be in tomorrow and then after that we’ll install the base tune to start it and see what’s what.

WOW that just looks AWESOME. Really nice job & looks like it came that way from the factory.

Agreed. Looks like it came that way. I’m blown away every time I walk in the shop at how nice of an install it is. The attention to detail has surpassed anything I expected.

If the intake was hooked to a stock air box then it'd be really hard to know if it was factory or not. I'm not saying this it's already not great just a comment. You picked a GREAT shop to do all the work.

Sure would

One thing to watch out for is your IAT’s with that intake setup. When I first did the Hemi, my intake was under the hood (although closer to the throttle body than yours). I was getting IAT’s well in excess of 200 degrees, and it was causing the ECM to pull lots and lots of timing to avoid detonation. That left a lot of ponies on the table.

My solution was a cowl intake which completely solved the problem.

Just something to he aware of - you may not have the same issue as I.

Thanks. I’ll keep that in mind and talk with them about it. Have a picture of what your intake looks like now?

Yes, the RUBICON T-Case linkage won't work for the 231 case.

If you can at some point get some pictures of where and how they mounted the remote filter I would be grateful because there isn't a lot of extra room to work with under there.
Thanks for the information..

Maybe today you'll get to fire it up.

That's something I've been keeping an eye on on mine. Obviously don't have the final components yet, but the parts I have ordered will keep it in the same area. The highest IAT's I've gotten so far have been around 110-115° sitting at a light. Granted, the highest OAT has only been 63°, so I'm sure IAT will increase as the OAT increases. I am fully prepared to fab a heatsheild around the engine side of the filter if necessary. My original plan was to use the factory air box and fab a new lid for the intake hose, but the height and the core support rod was going to make that somewhat impossible. I think one thing that might be in my favor is using the factory exhaust manifolds and I also bought new factory heat sheilds and using them. The biggest reason the factory uses them is to reduce under hood temps and help keep heat in the exhaust.. Those actually might be able to be used with your guys headers if heat becomes an issue. I know you (Nashville) already have yours all dialed in now.
Anyway, just my 1cent worth..

Not the final intake parts, but will remain in this location..
I'm going to move it as far forward as possible to try and get it in front of the fan blast and get cooler air.
