Hey all

Has anyone used this scanner for the relearn cam/crank function success? Also for OPDA adjustments to sync cam? @AjRagno has used it for this but his cam/crank sensor were not malfunctioning so want to hear from folks that used the Autel to actually fix the issue.

What other things has it been used for successfully?

I’m trying to convince myself to buy this instead of a DRbIII. I’m getting a p0344 code and need it trouble shoot. Also plan on calibrating Speedo and need for when I re-gear and upside tires

Thanks!!

Watching. No real experience with this type of scanner, but I understand a drbIII is hard to come by and much more expensive, and I wouldn’t mind having equipment to address things as you mention above.

I have a feeling nobody has specific experience with this unit and I haven’t found a lot of information on others.

My other idea was to buy a DRb unit.
and use it for what I need - then rent it on the forums for a small fee with a deposit just to recoup the cost.

There’s a sketchy looking company that rents them for 150 for 3 days

I have a ms906ts and have used it for cam sensor alignment numerous times.

No experience with the MK units but have used a variety of the MS Autels. They aren’t as user friendly as higher price after market scanners but for the cost they are excellent scan tools.

Hey to follow up

Swapped OPDA. After I used the Autel to actively monitor the cam/crank angle. It was at 10.5 degrees despite installing the OPDA at TDc.

I loosened the nut holding the OPDA and twisting the assembly until it was at 0.2. Tightened down and did the cam/crank relearn (YES IT DOES IT). No p0344 after abiut 500miles. Knock on wood.
