Rockjock Tie Rod on TJ?

So I have the ZJ drag link and end link upgrade and I’m looking to get the Rockjock tie rod as well but it says it’s not applicable with stock components. Will I be alright or do I need other steering upgraded components?

You’ll need TR ends specific for the RockJock TR. Why not get the BMB 4340 Chromoly TR?

Because he will still need the RJ tie rod ends and while they will fit the stock stuff, that's a long way to go to avoid the ZJ solid tie rod.

No reason it won't fit. There are lots of instances where folks have installed the tie rod flipped end for end which means if both ends work in the stock knuckle, then both ends also fit the stock draglink or the ZJ draglink which is the same tapers as stock.

Is there another tie rod you would recommend that would be heavier duty but still just be bolt in?

Doesn't matter until you upgrade the draglink. All you're doing is fully ensuring that the draglink gets all the damage instead of sharing some of that with the tie rod. I have one you can't bend but it would be silly to be that mean to your draglink.

So it would probably just be better to upgrade the whole system to the Rockjock?

Isn’t the ZJ and TJ drag link the same thing? I didn’t believe there was any difference between the two. They are both solid, it’s the tie rod most people upgrade as there a noticeable improvement there.

The angle of the ZJ drag link is different than the TJ, but will work.

Depends on how badly the aftermarket strayed from actual. Actual is the angle for the flattened section for the stabilizer bolt is different which binds up the eye in the stabilizer shock.
