I finally got around to replacing the hemorrhaging wheel cylinder on the passenger side! Not a hard job at all with the exception of getting the spring back on (which is just the reverse order of removal). An added bonus of removing brake fluid-soaked hardware is it's already lubricated and pretty easy
Not sure if the PO had just done rear brakes before selling, or if this wheel just hasn't had functioning brakes for 7 months but the shoes had plenty of meat on them!

Did you spray the bejeezus out of that drum with brake cleaner to remove all the leaked out brake fluid and debris that it has caught?
Put it this way, I need to replenish my Brakleen supply now.....
I redid my drum brakes about a month ago and I absolutely hated it, but one satisfying part of was drenching the drums in brake cleaner and seeing them in much better condition after that.
Actually was yesterday, but I put the top back on. It was 70 and above all last week, until yesterday morning. Yesterdays high was in the upper 40's low 50's.....And the forecast is not any better.....Friday afternoon

Agreed! One of those weirdo oddly satisfying things...
For the past week or so.... the instrument cluster display lights/headlights would occasionally go dark awhile after the MFS parking/headlights were selected. Wiggling the parking/headlight switch would reenergize the instrument cluster lights and headlights.
I have a spare OEM MFS in the parts cabinet, but instead of just replacing the MFS; I decided to clean the switch contacts using DeoxIT D5 contact cleaner to deoxidize the headlight switch contacts.
Removed the (2) screws for the steering column plastic clam shells, the (2) T20 screws and disconnected the harness connectors to remove the MFS. Sprayed the DeoxIT into the switch and cycled the switch numerous times. Tested the parking/headlight switch and the problem has been fixed.
Taking my time the entire procedure was approximately 30 minutes.
I am keeping the spare OEM MFS for when the parking/headlight switch cannot be repaired with contact cleaner.

My transmission was leaking and I was thinking that it was the transmission oil pan gasket. No idea for sure, but I just replaced it with a Lube Locker gasket.
At this point, here is the list of things that I have completed on this Jeep since I got it in July.
At this point, it is "done" for now. There are still many things to do to it, but I'm going to take a break. I'll pick up probably the week of Thanksgiving and start doing more stuff.
But it feels really good to be done...for now.

Replaced the dead lighter with this. Interesting that it reads 11.9v and the battery reads 12.5

It's probably measuring the voltage after the LEDs. Diodes introduce a 0.6 v drop.
Found a deal on a rampage soft top with half door uppers. Originally almost $400 but I found one “used” for $145. The box was a little smashed but the top appears to have never been taken out of the box.
Yesterday I installed 4 KM3's (I'll swap the spare tomorrow morning) Huge difference from the TrailGrapplers. I can now travel at illegal speeds on the freeway without the Jeep feeling like it's going to shake apart
Today I swapped the rear trackbar axle side bolt, it's amazing how much drama that one little bolt can cause when it won't snug down (threads stripped) to spec

Well, I have a pot of Red Beans and sausage bubbling on the stove, and the rice cooker is doing it's thing. In the meantime, I decided to try on a half door, since they are finished except for some door pin inserts that I have on order. Figured I might as well see how they look.

They look great! The red is just a shade darker than the factory paint (or maybe I didn't put on enough coats), but I really like it, and it's close enough that it won't bother me!

I loved it so much that I swapped on the Driver's side too. I figure I'll run 'em for the next 3-4 weeks, when the weather gets too cold to go without half of your doors!

Looking good! They look a little flat right now compared to the body. Once the paint outgasses and you can put a coat of polish on them, should help bring them closer to the OEM paint.
I did this tooabout a month ago. Bought a two pack on impulse from EBay. First one went flying when I tapped it in. Glad I had the other whichwwnt in well! Much better then the rod flapping around.
