my 97 Sahara 4.0 5 speed w/ 3.07's on 31's 18+MPG. My 05 Rubi 4.0 6 speed w/ 4.10's on 33's 14-15 MPG ! I drive both the same, usually fairly light on the go pedal.....

Standard 35x12.5 and 5.25" lift build with little regard to weight savings. Originally got around 12 MPG, but with a few targeted modifications and some tuning, am getting closer to 15-16 MPG.

Any good hypermiler should be able to do 30% better than epa estimates in good conditions.

I average between 14 and 16 depending on how I drive. I normally drive 56-60mph. 80 mile round trip to work.

Hey all.

Just read a thread about folks getting 17mpg and 18mpg in their TJs.

I have a 4.0, auto, running a 3.5” lift and 31s. Tires are bf goodrich mudterrains.

My average mpg is 10mpg, with 11.5mpg being my highest. That was me doing everything I could to keep in the overdrive “gear” with RPMs below 3k.

When I read the higher mpgs, got me thinking - is something wrong / old with mine? I do know I need a track bar replacement as well as the steering stabilizer replaced. Maybe that’s creating extra work?

Having owned 20 Jeeps myself, I highly doubt your claims. I even had a 4 cylinder once.

Please educate me on where I could have picked up error in my measurements
