Horn won’t stop

1998 TJ.
Sitting in the house with family and suddenly my horn starts blowing in the garage and won’t stop with no one even near it. Had to unplug both horns to get it to stop. Any suggestions to save me some trouble and time?

Check the horn relay. Start with pulling them and see if the horn is still blaring.

It'll stop honking as soon as you promise to take it on a trail ride and give you t some fresh gas.

I tried a new relay. Still sounds and won’t stop. Must be in the steering wheel.

The horn pad in the steering wheel airbag cover has probably gone bad. The switch pad isn't available seperately and you won't often find just the cover available, so you may have to buy a used airbag to get a replacement.

I think there was somebody who did some kind or repair to theirs. I don't remember which forum it was on. I also don't recall if they did something to the pad in their airbag cover to get it working again, or found a similar sized horn pad and fitted it in place.

Way back, I took the horn pad/air bag pad off the steering wheel (carefully), cut the rubber nobbies
