I would probably prefer the week of May 5-9 if that works. Every time I have gone at the end if April I have hit snow in the Colorado mountains either going there or coming home. Going a week later might give better weather.

I went in the middle of May the two times I went and had snow one year on the way there and great weather the other year. I'm OLD so I'll take a little more heat over it being cold. Plus it just makes the trails that more enjoyable when it isn't raining or sleeting on us.

I’m going to do some looking. KOA is expensive and I won’t have the kids there so don’t need a pool.

They were cheaper than KOA... Get someone who needs a bunk and split the cost of a cabin.

No I think their cabins don't have a bathroom... So you have to walk over to the bathroom... Is that a BIG issue?

I can understand that... For the $$$ they want they should have at least a toilet in the cabin. I hadn't paid attention to that before.
So do a search of other campgrounds.
Since you're coming solo you could see about sharing a place with someone? Or what's a motel room cost compared to the cabin? Nothings says you have to stay in a campground?

@Apparition Put me down as a “maybe” May 5-9. 2025 is a Moab year for me, but I will have another kid getting married. It looks like May based on the bride’s rental agreement, but no dates are set yet.

Well then is a motel a better option? Not trying to not have you in a campground but?? There used to be a little motel right next to the downtown campground but I don't remember the name of it.

I just spoke with the Sun Country Downtown Moab campground. The lady on the phone indicated that starting next Monday they are offering 40% of all reservations for next year.

The discount offer runs thru 12/3.....

DAMN that is a GREAT deal. Might just have to make reservations there.
