Utah Moab in May 2025

Tonya is preschool teacher and they follow city school schedule so Apr/May is tough for me since she is working. Once you all nail down a date, I will see if she can get the time off.

Victor are you bringing a bike?

If I am able to make it, I will definitely bring my bike. I have wheeled 3 of the last 4 weekends (my wife went with me on 2 of the 3) and I got to give her a little break before I bring up another Jeep trip. I did mention to her if we went on a jeep trip next year would she prefer Moab or South Dakota and she said Moab (which is funny because I was hoping she would say South Dakota :().

I haven't even brought up California, New Mexico, or Arizona to her yet, every time I try she keeps cutting me off with talk about how I am supposed to take her to Europe :ROFLMAO:

There’s some good mountain biking in Europe😃
Hang in there. Hope to see you in Moab.

That's awesome, Mac. With your recovery skills you can drag my upside-down ass out of Devil's Hot Tub...

🙂

All my recovery skills are based on the existence of these things called trees. I'm going to be a fish out if water down there...in fact I won't know what to do with myself without a chainsaw...

Frankly, I'd like to avoid all upside-down and laying on side incidents, which brings me to another illustration of biblical principles from Jeep's; LISTEN TO YOUR SPOTTER. HE SEES AND KNOWS MORE THAN YOU DO! 😂

Looks like my wife wants to come now. I think she wants to hike and do other activities and maybe wheel a day or two, so I won't be doing the 2,000 mile for $1,000 trip. It will be more like the 2,000 mile trip for $10,000.

If your spotter is from TN, he is typically going to be saying. "Back up about a foot.........a little further.......you got like 2 more inches before you fall........now bump it from there".

If that doesn't work he will say, "do the same thing with a little more enthusiasm this time."

You’re a damned good spotter

That ^^^ is a quote. I heard that multiple x's.

When I stopped listening I may have faintly heard the words "STOP! STOP!" Then it was too late.

Dang if I can get my patellar tendons straightened out I'll get back on the bike and get in shape for some Moab trails. Captain Ahab was my favorite trail last time I rode in Moab.

I'd like to try the escalator one of these times.

Same....

I've never tried any of the tubs so this might be the year I finally do.

You get used to it... The first year I went I forgot and still had my chainsaw mounted when I arrived and got razed by some of the others in the group I was with.
You tie off to other vehicles and boulders and such since there aren't trees.

This was a fun recovery since it was only the two of us.

I haven't ridden Captain Ahab. We should do that. @gasiorv will probably be on his hardtail +/- a cassette depending upon whether or not he decides to stay single speed. I'll stick with a full squishy with deep gears for Moab.

You won’t see me on a single speed! I will be impressed though. I’d be in my full suspension. It’s not as much as I’d like at 120/120. I’d prefer 150/140. I just hope I can be healed up.
