Utah Moab in May 2025

You won’t see me on a single speed! I will be impressed though. I’d be in my full suspension. It’s not as much as I’d like at 120/120. I’d prefer 150/140. I just hope I can be healed up.

I hope you are healed up soon! It seems like I always have one 'itis or another these days.
I rode in Moab on a 130mm rear bike once. It was pretty good but it also had a 150 fork. Currently, I'm on 170/147 which is great for where/how I prefer to ride.

If I make it, I will definitely have the trusty hard tail but most likely will install gears. I love SS, but I know my limits.

If the wife doesn't want to go, I may have to ride my bike down to I-40 and stand there with my thumb up and see if @NashvilleTJ will pick me up. Riding shotgun is better than no ride at all!

If my Steve McQueen movie history is correct, “riding shotgun” literally was the guy riding next to the driver with the shotgun. I believe it was in The Magnificent Seven.

We can only hope for the best for you because @NashvilleTJ be like…

I have an all mountain hardtail that I really enjoy on the right trails. It has a 160 fork, is slack and long and it excels in steep natural terrain like we have here in Oregon. But Moab is all sharp and pointy rock with lots of drops to flat and my knees and back would not love a hardtail there.

If anyone wants to consider renting a condo for the week and splitting the cost let me know. 3-4 of us could spend about $70-80/night each for a nice place.

Got my 40% off & staying at the Downtown campground..

Premium Full Hookup Pull Through RV Site

Sat, May 03 – Sun, May 11 (8 Nights)

2 Adults (18+) 1 Pet

The one thing they do different than other RV places I've made reservations at before is they want 50% of the fee when you book. Not a big deal and you still get the discount on the full amount.

Now the main reason I chose Downtown campground over the other 3 places that Sun Outdoors has in Moab was that the pads for parking at paved/concrete as opposed to gravel or dirt. Just makes the RV a little more stable.

I rented a 3 person camping cabin at Sun Outdoors Arches. I’ve stayed here several times. There are three beds and just me, so if someone wants a place to stay it would be pretty cheap for you. Just let me know and we’ll work it out. It’s booked for May 2-8. If not, that’s ok too! I love this place because it’s got a HOT TUB. LOL. Anyone is welcome to come hang out at the tub and chelax with some beers. 🍻

I’ll be bringing a camp stove, cooler, and foodstuffs. Probably just eat breakfast at the cabin, lunch at the trail, and dinner at restaurant, but you can do whatever you like and use my camp stove and stuff.

You have good taste. A brewskie beer in the hot tub after a trail day is my favorite thing at the KOA

Suggested trails:
Cliffhanger
Metal Masher
Pritchett
Rusty Nail
Behind the Rocks
Hell’s Revenge

I haven’t tried Cliffhanger or Metal Masher. Is Rusty Nail an offshoot of the Trifecta?

Looking forward to it.
