Yo guys. I was at the White Mountain Jeep Invasion last week (https://www.flickr.com/photos/planet-geek/albums/72157671548781934/with/30238076105/ for the full photo spread) and saw this safari rack. It's hinged so it can be moved out of the way to put on / take off the hard top, and I like the shape / ladders. Can't find who made it, any pointers?

(And will it fit on a TJ?)

It's a Gobi Rack and if you zoom in on top of the ladder the name is cut into the steel frame. They do have a TJ line.

Outstanding, thank you. Now i'm learning about roof racks a lot more. What was throwing me was I was looking at a completed system. Rack frame, cargo rack on the roof, 2 climbing ladders, etc. If I go this route it'll help with "Where do I mount over the windshield lights", that's for sure.

Thanks! :)

Such racks can also serve to make it much easier to make the TJ too top heavy. The safari look is one thing, making it easy to pile too much junk on top of the Jeep is quite another. :)

Then throw in that 6 inch lift, big soft aired down tires. Yehaa!
It does look good though. Not like some I've seen

Around here (southeast, confined quarters trails) we call that particular model the "Tree grabbah"

No, seriously....we can't HAVE racks on trail rigs here.....damn near can't have TOPS
