The Jeep J6, a Two (2) Door Jeep Truck Concept for EJS 2019

Well that's what concept vehicles are for.
I can maybe see an extended cab version with the spare tire placed elsewhere or even a regular cab with a long bed.

But seriously though, what would the towing capacity be? 2,000 lbs?
Payload capacity? 800 lbs?

It looks good and all, but it just doesn't seem practical at all like a pickup should be.
Too small for anything truck-ish . . . passenger, dog, and a picnic cooler and you're nudging the GVW.
It would sell on its looks more than practicality.

If I was in the market for a new 2-door wrangler, I would buy that instead. I love the look. However, 2 door pickups as a daily are nearly dead, due to the practicality of a 4 door. I don't even have children and my last three pickup trucks have had 4 doors. That said, there will always be the work truck market, but that isn't who Jeep is targeting with their pickups.

As good as it looks I don't think it would sell well. Most of the pickups you see new on the road today are 4 doors. Hell, I dont even think any new pickups are offered in 2 door regular cabs anymore. Even the new JL wranglers, you see at least 3 or 4 4-door models for every 2 door. It seems like the market for these types of vehicles are more 4 door now
See post #11 in this thread. Jeep didnt offer the two door Gladiator based on the fact that ~87% of the mid size trucks sold are crew cab and 4x4. Jeep will be lacing up the gloves with Toyota, Ford, and Chevy.

Agreed, I'd only buy one if it could tow my TJ on a trailer. Even the Liberty could do that.

Hope so, but the report I saw said the 2 door JT is based on the JLU wheelbase frame. Which could mean the 2 door JT is only rated to tow 3500#. And the 2 door would be purely a marketing scam.

it looks cool aside from the lame 80's light bar and bro-truck spare tire mount

Wouldn't be towing 7650 lbs. with an automatic and car brakes . . .
Who knows what aftermarket stuff they have on there for the Concept. We all know short wheelbase and heavy trailers are a nono. And IF BY THE BLESSING OF SWET BABY JESUS they do come out with the J6. 2-3K max

Now that I have seen what a 2 door JT could actually look like every thing else doesn’t even compare lol. I know it’s a concept, but I feel like it could actually come to production. I’ll continue to drive my little ranger until the 2 door JT is released haha.
