California Rubicon Trail Run

I'll try to get more of FirstsilverLJ's info. I know he's on 33's, but not sure on lift or gears. Pretty sure he has a winch.

Here's a short video from our 2014 trip I stole from Gene. The trail ain't no joke dudes!

I'm looking forward to the challenge.

After a bit of digging I believe @06TJ35's has:

lift could be 6" but he mentioned wanting to lower it to 4.5. No idea on lockers.
My detective work is done for the day.

I'm looking forward to it as well. I struggled a bit last trip, but now I have a size bigger tires, 1" taller, and 1" tighter tummy, and oil pan protection (a must).

This is very true, it’s not to be taken lightly at all. Typical trail damage includes flats due to sidewall cuts on sharp granite and lost beads, hammered diff covers if unprotected, and broken axles and u-joints from overzealous skinny pedal use. Every Jeep on the list can make it through as is, but it wouldn’t hurt to throw some armor on the soft spots. I’ve heard a few smashed oil pan stories. I’m adding an engine skid to my rig, in fact brown Santa dropped it off on Wednesday and I’m dying to get home to ogle it!

I vowed not to run the trail again until I got oil pan protection and front diff protection. Those have been checked off the list. Last thing I'd like to add is some mini skids for the front lower arm brackets.
This is what my oil pan and lower arm brackets looked like after that run,

Granted, I was on 32's and 2.5" of lift, so results may vary. Everyone else in that group were on 35's and 3.5+ lifts.

I see you’re running the 5 1/2 quart oil pan :D
