2006 LJ transfer case drop kit

I would strongly recommend installing the SYE, double cardan driveshaft, and adjustable rear control arms. Save up if you have to and do it right all at once.

If you did it this way, you would NOT need a transfer case drop.
 
No. You will achieve the proper angle using the adjustable rear control arms. You can do a search here to find all the details on the install and setup. Advance adapters has a good video on the SYE install. I did mine without removing the transfer case.
 
I have a 2005 LJ. I just installed a 4" lift with a 1" MML and have no vibes, and did not have to lower the transfer case skid. You have an LJ with a longer rear driveshaft; you get to a squeak by a few of the traditional lift kit rules.
If you install the lift and have small vibes; look into a motor mount lift instead of a transfer case drop.
You "shouldn't" need an SYE or DCDS if you stay at 4" with an LJ.

I said "shouldn't", every jeep is different. 😎

Agree, I did the 3.5” metalcloak lift on mine and ran the stock driveshaft for a year prior to tummy tuck and new rear axle which at that point I went SSYE and new shaft.

Why are you so adamant about your answer when you don't even have an LJ. Hopefully the OP will read all the responses (and do more research) before making a decision.

Exactly, LJ is not the same animal as a TJ.

The advantage of going with the SYE and associated hardware is that it allows precision adjustment for proper driveline angles. MMLs and transfer case drops are predetermined increments that may get you “close enough”, but still allow smaller vibrations. Driveline geometry is at play regardless of tj/lj.

I am just letting the OP know what I would do.
