Looking for a capable DD with support

Are those the factory fender flares? They look good!

All the ones I am looking at are sport models, so they have the hood scoop.

Good info about the ball joints. I don't want to go crazy, but I read that a 2" OME lift would be a nice lift without having to worry much about anything else. I'd also add a 1" body lift to it as well, which would probably clear 32" tires just fine.

They have a real HID projector retrofitted to them, so they'll be bright as hell, and have a very nice cutoff pattern. The only issue is that they're pretty spendy!

I wanted the hood scoop too but realized they were on the sport models after I got mine. I could prob swap hoods later on.

I have 265/75/16's which are 31.5" tall. They fit stock no problem and I could fit 32's as long as they aren't any wider so you probably wouldn't need that much lift to fit that size.

By the way look for models with 16" wheels if you want to run the Tundra brakes. They require 16's.

I snapped some pictures and one of the cargo area so you can get an idea of the space.

Good call on the 16" wheels, I'll be sure to remember that. I read you can fit 32" tires at the biggest without any major modifications (other than a lift), so I'll stick with that. I'm not trying to turn this into some sort of crazy project by any means.

I like the brand new 4Runners, but man are they big! You'd have a lot harder time going anywhere tight with them off-road.

Yeah it has the electric locker. It's that red button to the left of the steering wheel. :biggrin:

Bummer. Tires are going back. They been giving me issues since mounted and TireBuyer is being totally cool about it and allowing me to send em back for full refund. Looks like I will be searching for another set. Perhaps a slightly more aggressive tire......

Yup. Sending out shipping stickers tomorrow. I just have to order a new set and have them mounted so I can return the old set. I don't have the old tires anymore.

General grabber at2 might a good tire for you. My neighbor has them on his 4Runner in a 265 and he likes them. Still an all terrain but a good tire. I trhink his 4Runner is an 04' or 05'.

I have/had the Authority tires on both my jeeps and they are outstanding. The only thing keeping me from going with them again is the temptation to try something new.

Yeah I figured you'd recommend those.

They are actually very common around here but unfortunately a bit over my budget and Load Range E in my size.
