Brothers for Veterans LJ Build

Dude most veterans I know are assholes, why would you want to take any of us fishing or hunting?? :ROFLMAO:

Kidding (kind of), that's a great looking LJ and I love the color. I'll check out the FB page, keep up the good work!
Ha! Thanks for the support! Let me know if you’re ever in Southern Indiana and thanks for your service!

Hey @3FOffroad are you a veteran?

Is this your site?

https://www.brothersforveterans.com/
I am not. Blessed for all those that have served and are serving. Much of my family has been. My brother in law lost his battle with PTSD 2 yrs ago. Spent a lot of time in the woods and turning wrenches with him and that is the inspiration behind us. He was stationed on the USS Saratoga, where the Jeep gets her name.

Yes, that is our website!

If you don’t have a spare tire solution, you’ll find the highest recommended one is the exogate (also called moryde) it uses the factory mounting location but replaces it with serious beef. Really like the color - and good choice on the MCEs, there are highly regarded here as well. Talk to @mrblaine about his brakes, they are the best of the best and he is the guru. He is a big supporter of veterans as well.

Alright guys, this has been my first hurdle. Dropped the tank to install my WARN gas tank skid and I broke the vent tube.... I’ll blame my brother... I was able to find me a 2001 tank and thought I was good and found that the 03-04 tanks had a different configuration. I’m looking to potentially rig one of the vents with a V and then attach the additional hose to the fuel filler... but then there is the issue with the evap... if anyone has any thoughts let me know. Thanks all!

Looks like a truly awesome organization you all started and the off-roading concept is great, out of the box thinking. Vets getting out need connection, structure, and sometimes a little adventure to compensate for such significant life changes. Proud to see vets giving back in unique ways. I’ll keep an eye on your website and hopefully I can join some fellow vets on drive sometime this year.
Would love to be able to team up with some of you all as we look to venture outside and around the Midwest! Thanks!

Is it only on FB? Alot of us don't do FB.
We have an Instagram page but it doesn’t get a lot of updates. We try to not show a lot of pictures etc. Try to keep the focus on the fellowship. Don’t want to feel like we are just trying to be ‘showy’ if that makes sense. I have my oersonal Instagram @3FOffroad if you want to follow on there.

Welcome to the forum. Kind of wish you would have reached out here first for some build plans and sponsor ideas. Im sure a few of us could have helped.
Honestly I didn’t think about it. I was planning the build out of pocket and then started to talk to others and folks wanted to get engaged. If anyone is interested in helping I would love the opportunity to share our plans and how folks can help. All money we raise, down to the penny goes directly to the Veterans. We don’t have anyone of staff and so my brothers and I pay out of pocket with help from vendors.

Welcome to the neighborhood. Love the color, as it does look quite different depending on the lighting. Did I read correctly that it had a 4" body lift? 😳 what are your build plans? Or do we have to wait to see them lol? Either way, looking forward to seeing your progress. Sounds like a great thing your a part of giving back to our veterans. 👍
As for the build plans, staying with the Dana 30 and Dana 44 rear. Working with the amazing folks at Yukon on chromo shafts, 4.88 gears, spin free kits, and zip lockers front and rear. I haven’t been able to find a lift company that wants to help with the build so we got the great folks at Daystar and MCE fenders to help us with giving some more clearance. WARN has given us some great discounts on bumpers and all armor. Trying to keep the build somewhat mild as I want the Veterans we take out to see that they can find a TJ for cheap and get out and wheel.

Incase you're not aware, Chris has all the factory manuals available over in the TJ Resources sub forum, parts catalogs included. Might help you out in your builds.

I have an 05 tank from my LJR I took out to replace it with a Genright tank.

I just went out and looked at my 05 tank and remembered the 05-06 evap and fuel pump is different than pre-05. Sorry.

Thanks for the info, new to the forum so knowing how to navigate is half the battle. Thank you!

I’d love to go with a GenRight tank but dropping that kind of coin doesn’t make sense right now. I’ve tried to reach out to those guys 2 different times and haven’t got a response back. Love their products just haven’t been able to connect any dots.

Post up in the tj general discussion what you’re looking for and the pupose of the build - there are a ton of people on here that are willing to help! You can also PM @Chris (creator of this site and Tj fanatic) who might be able to link you up with someone.
