What did you do to your TJ today?

Looks good enough for me.

Seems like I need to remove that and then get the OEM one and I'm good to go. Thanks!
Remove that bracket and hook the TB to the stock location indicated with orange. Then remove the dropped pitman arm with a pitman arm puller, Autozone rents them or they are $15.

I suggest letting it soak in liquid wrench then tightening the pitman arm puller until very tight. Whack the pitman arm with a hammer a few times and retighten. I broke the last pitman arm puller I rented because I just kept turning it.

Also, rent a torque wrench from Autozone that goes up to 180lbs.

More googling indicates in may be my tire pressure. I checked and mine were at ~32. I looked around and it appears the suggested PSI is ~26 for 35x12.5R15 tires.
Definitely drop it down to somewhere around 25psi. That will make a HUUUUGGGEEEE difference.

The dropped pitman arm and lowered track bar bracket should cancel each other out with regards to bump steer. Not sure how else they can affect ride quality

Well, I just replaced my exhaust manifold. The one I pulled had a crack on both sides. It went a lot smother than I anticipated. Used a doorman manifold and all in all about 5 hrs in the job. Tomorrow I need to redo the exhaust flame. Got a small leak there. However, I don’t see that a donut goes in there. Wasn’t one there when I tore it apart. The hardest part of this job was getting the belt back on from having to remove the power steering pump. I had the way the 98 is. I wish it had the spring loaded idler.

My 5'2" wife really appreciates the addition of these GraBars.

Regulars LJ’s had regular flares.

you sure about that? I just measured my LJ flares and their like ~4.5” maybe even 5”. What’s a rubicon flare then? Because I see that a standard Jeep flare is apparently 3.5”? Not sure how correct this is.. does that mean I have the wide flares?

Rubicon / Sahara flares are approximately 4-1/4, the regular flares are approximately 3-3/4 inch, from what I've read. And accurate with the regular flares I removed and replaced with Rubicon flares.

So my LJ flares are in fact the wide ones then. Interesting. These are original part of the Jeep and not some aftermarket thing...

Are you the original owner? Original flares? The ones in your profile picture look painted, like Sahara's had. My Rubicon flares are the matte black unpainted. I've never heard of any being almost 5 inches other than aftermarket ones.

Is it the painted ones that were wider? Mine are painted but I’m not digging them out to measure. Guessing the painted were same for all models.

I am not the original owner but purchased the Jeep from the original guy when it had 8k miles on it. Yes they are original, everything was on the Jeep, hell even the manual was still wrapped up in plastic. The flares on my Jeep are painted and match the body color.

My LJ model is a Premium from the documentation I received with it. Two tone seats, center dash bezel is also silver while all else is black.

I took a quick measurement yesterday maybe 5” is extreme but they were 4.5” minimum. I’ll check again tomorrow.

Same for all models as in wider?

Yup mine is the same stuff. My LJ has all those options basically. So those are the wide ones then?

Where is that print out from your pasted?
The window sticker thread had me wondering what my LJ cost new. I went to Monroneylabels and input my VIN. In order to get a copy it cost $8 but it’s always there to review when I log in.

Their site also has all the options so you can adjust the window sticker if it’s wrong, that screenshot is from the options tab.

Guess I did the wrong package, I have the auto

Tried to screenshot the whole page of packages but can’t on my phone

I just went and remeasured mine to double check. The are right at 4-1/4 at the front side marker light, but in the center of the flare, they are between 4-1/4 and 4-1/2 at the widest points, the best I could see just looking down at the tape measure. I must have only measure near the side marker light a couple years ago.

Nothing big, but something that has been on my to-do list since I got it last year. I finally removed the door sill protective tape. It did a great job for the last 15 years, but was looking pretty shabby..
I got both sides removed in about an hour. Started with using a heat gun, but that didn't seem to help any and was hot to touch. I found it best to use a sharp plastic scraper to get an edge started then just slowly pull it off.
A tip is, it came off in bigger pieces when I carefully stretched out like those removable 3M wall hangers.
