What did you do to your TJ today?

**Product used** LA Totally Awesome Degreaser. 1/2 gallon of water a couple glugs of product.

Scrubbed the Half Doors our TJ came with. They have been sitting in the garage collecting dust, we just run no doors. These were stained with clay mud, dirt dobbers and looked sun faded. I was planning on cleaning and fabric painting then based on seeing someone else’s post. First scrub took a decent amount off, kinda surprised me so I did it about 5 times each door scrubbing for about 3-5 minutes in a circular and back/forth motion. Rinsing good afternoon each scrub. The results shocked me so much I was pissed I didn’t do a before and after. Nothing else was applied to these doors to make them look more
Black .

$6 at Lowe’s for a Gallon. Hell of a product, I’m Interested to see how the shine and black holds
Up these next few days.

Now I need a Side Mirror solution.

Wow! They look new. I'm pretty sure that forgetting to take a before picture is what makes some things work so well. 😄 I will have to pick some up. Have you ever used Folex? It's for marketed for upholstery and carpet, but is similar that you can use it on anything you can use water on. It's worked on floor rubber on my Jeep that nothing would get back to a dark color and it's great on carpet and seats. I forgot to take a before, but this had brown in it that Meg's APC and Simple Green couldn't touch, Folex really worked (photo take after everything dried):

Folex reminds me of those Canal St Rolexes lol

I've been using this product for over 10 years for just about everything. I have it 80% strength in a spray bottle and I use to clean the engines in my vehicles. Mist the entire engine compartment with water then spray this stuff on everything that's dirty... let it set for 5 minutes and then spray it off. It will take 90% of the grease, oil etc off the engine. reapply and use a brush on the rest and it will all wash off.

I've used it in carpet cleaners, on BBQ grills and in low strength as a driveway/garage wash to clean up oil and grease there as well.

I had a set of lower mileage rubicon springs laying around so I swapped those in with Teraflex 2in spacers. I LOVE the ride height now and it's perfect for fire trails I hit here in California. The spacers with the 1.25in body lift fit the 33's like a dream, in my opinion. When I buttoned things up I took off for a 1100 mile trip from Northern California to San Diego and back. 3rd pic is a pit-stop at Pyramid Lake.

Looks like you're not afraid to rub it a little. First pic.

Today, I finally stopped saying "I need to take the painted fender flares off and repaint them" and started on it.

I removed one front flare and then a small lower piece after I took this photo. All it took was an 8mm wrench, a pair of needle-nose pliers, and the patience of a saint. 😆 I cleaned all the dirt and grim off afterward with warm soapy water. It went pretty well — nothing stripped out. Now to do the other three. 😭 I took the plastic "Jeep" branded piece off from in front of the grill, removed one of the front bumper bolts, and called it a night.
I feel your pain. Haha. When I painted mine I took one off and it was such a tedious chore that I decided to just tape and mask off the Jeep and paint them in place. Best decision I’ve ever made 😁.

I've been contemplating doing just that myself. You just convinced me!

Nice! Looks good — the RUBICON over it also helps. haha. I'm gonna take them off just this once and hopefully never need to do it again! Maybe drive around with them off for a week so other Jeep owners can appreciate my efforts. The plan was to prime them and paint them with bedliner spray, but at this point now is the time to decide if I want to put aftermarkets on because I never want to take these off again. I think I'm digging the factories over anything aftermarket that's under $300 for a set though.

Had the previous owners never painted, I could have left them on and used Solution Finish on the grayed black plastic. The small bottle ($15ish) did all the trim on my old 4-door car and made it look new again, and I still have half the bottle left. It's going strong after at least six months and it's supposed to last about a year. I'm going to put it on my Jeep bumper end caps if I put them back on. I think I'll put the back ones back on, but get delete plates for the front (or a new bumper). I highly recommend Solution Finish, check out the before an afters on amazon. If anyone needs tips on using it, shoot me a message. I'll do a before/after if I do the end caps.

Be thankful yours weren't all rusted on! I had to grind off 6 when I took the flares off my 97. All the rest I had to use vice-grips on the back of. Not a single one of the push nuts survived the 23 years. Replaced everything with stainless steel rivnuts and stainless bolts and washers.

No rust yet on mine, it certainly could be worse. Stainless hardware and rivnuts is a great idea. I've been thinking of what to do when I reinstall to make it easier/better than the plastic nuts. Part of me wants to improve it, part of me just wants to get them back on without spending more money. Have you got a build thread on your Jeep? What's that hood latch you've got? Looks nice. I've been looking at getting new ones.

Amazon hood catches (y) we'll see how well they hold up but the other day we had sustained 30 mph winds and going head on at 70 with it made the hood waaaayyyy too flappy for my liking.

I would definitely orient the pin pointing back just in case. How have they held up? I was looking at this kit, and the Rough Country/Rugged ridge one that mimics the stock setup, but all metal. For now, I have the Onix stock replacement and want to get something tighter
